sorry is this plug and play??

TeLLy 01-05-2005 11:45 PM

No it's not but talk to kazell about the kit he made to mount and plug....

BIG 01-06-2005 12:20 AM

if you use the plug ins from your stock cluster then it IS plug and play, BUT you'll have to get a new guage surround, since its a slightly different animal. My suggestion would be to buy an RSX surround, probably like $20 and modify that....

let me know

BIG 01-06-2005 08:56 AM

I'll take some pics tonight and post them up and send the out to those interested!

B to the izzump

ELaudio 01-07-2005 04:05 PM

Hmmm... so wait, Telly indicated that an adapter/mods would be required, but you're saying it does fit? I figured the RSX would have different connectors... Hmmm... If this IS PnP I might be interested... (did this come from a civic or an RSX?)

TeLLy 01-07-2005 05:23 PM

Well, I read up on a thread by Kazell when he was making a custom surround for the rsx cluster, and i saw he was also molding up some harness plugs, so I assumed that rewiring or at least an adapter would be required. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here, I'd hate to misinform someone leading to a missed sale.

BIG 01-07-2005 05:59 PM

ok, it WILL NOT plug and play.

BUT, you can use the plugs from your stock cluster and it WILL work.

PM Kazell if you have questions about using your stock guage cluster plugs with this setup.

BIG 01-09-2005 10:35 AM

bump....give me an offer!!

fuledya 01-09-2005 11:36 AM

How many miles on the cluster? Is the price $200 canadian shipped? Im in the US, are there any duty costs involved getting it into the states? I want to buy it.

BIG 01-09-2005 12:50 PM

its $200 CDN plus shipping, it won't be that much to ship.....I'll split it with you.

as far as duty, I can mark as a gift or whatever.....I'll even write a cheaper sales price on it, just let me know

as far as miles on it. it came out of a car with only 8K miles on it!

fuledya 01-09-2005 12:53 PM

ok, I pmed Kazell, as soon as he gets back to me, ill buy it, assuming he can answer my questions as far as fit. Your sure the cluster works?

BIG 01-09-2005 03:21 PM

yeah, I'm sure...if need be I can go test drive an RSX and swap it, just to see. I bought it from a VERY reputable company here, locally.

let me know

BIG 01-11-2005 05:01 PM

bump

ELaudio 01-12-2005 03:45 PM

Oh my. I'm still confused. If I take the stock plugs from my 2001 1.7EL, can I plug it directly into this cluster? I've worked quite a bit on my cluster, changing the illumination to blue LEDs. My car has 2 plugs, one for illumination and one for gauge function. Please clarify if you can...

BIG 01-15-2005 12:39 PM

it is my understanding that if you take the connectors (blue and green) off your cluster and use it on the RSX one then it will work.

I'll PM Kazell and see what he says....

$175 + shipping takes it!!!!

fastest_ex 01-15-2005 12:49 PM

thats not a type s cluster, thats from a base rsx.... i see it redline on 7000 not 8000 like the type s

AggressiveAdam 01-15-2005 01:58 PM

man I wish it had the KM on the outside Id be all over this

BIG 01-15-2005 06:49 PM

you're right fastest ex.....even better (closer to civic readline ;))

Adam....KM is still on the inside ;)....most aftermarket gauges are in MPH anyways....plus then you'll be in tune with the 1/4 mile track ;)

sadly Ive realized that which is why Im sticking with the stock cluster for now.

My car wont ever see the track, automatic with too much ice in the trunk for a track.

ELAudio if you buy this cluster ill gladly buy your Blue one :)
