given our messed up weather..

when do you guys think is the best time to put on wheels and summer tires? I don't want to jump the gun and then pay for it later.

Blue-Wolf 03-16-2005 08:18 PM

Mine are already on, but my car is in the shop. I think less than a month should be okay, but that's just me.

As long as there isn't any snow, and the roads are somewhat clean, I'd do it.

Sojsboy 03-16-2005 08:47 PM

^agreed

MrWong 03-16-2005 09:18 PM

Middle to end of april should be good.

qfinger 03-16-2005 10:12 PM

Blah, I run all seasons on my stock alloy wheels all year round.

*misslynn* 03-16-2005 10:58 PM

lol sojsboy you know how impatient i am. that said, slippery roads make you think twice...someone slid into me yesterday

OniChi 03-16-2005 11:43 PM

Meow... hmmm I'd Say Late April at the earliest.. Knowing if it's gonna be like last year. You know that's there is gonna be one more big snowfall before May.

CdnSilverStreak 03-16-2005 11:47 PM

Sucks to be you e-town people... lol... j/k...

You'll get snow till June if this weather keep up...

Sojsboy 03-17-2005 10:51 AM

*misslynn* 03-17-2005 06:38 PM

slid into me on 97th street. changed lanes into me, retard. anyways, it's minor. good thing i'm not going to be seeing it anymore

Sojsboy 03-18-2005 01:03 AM

*misslynn* 03-18-2005 08:50 AM

he scraped into my front bumper, passenger side. and nah, it's not that bad, pretty minor, so i just said to forget about it. ( i think it can come off with a polish)

silentgiant 03-18-2005 12:20 PM

i know how you feel...mine are new though with a polished lip....dont need any rocks dinging the lip...I will wait till they clean the roads

*misslynn* 03-18-2005 08:58 PM

ahh. don't know if i can wait that long..isn't that in may?

Blue-Wolf 03-18-2005 09:16 PM

Yeah, I'm worried about my rims too. And now the car I was going to buy is out of the question. So, I guess I just have to sink more money in to mine. Such is life.

*misslynn* 03-18-2005 09:24 PM

goddamn edmonton...terrible for driving conditions

chrisgushue 03-20-2005 01:41 PM

OniChi 03-20-2005 02:28 PM

Muahhaha.. another surprise later next month too I know there will be more snow..

Graphicdude 03-20-2005 03:48 PM

DAMN straight!!

Blue-Wolf 03-20-2005 08:17 PM

Sigh, I'm gonna have to put my stock steel back on for a bit I guess. :_disgust:

dre2600 03-20-2005 08:41 PM

Give it another month or two, all the snow will be gone then and they'll have cleaned all the gravel off the streets here. If you wait a little longer they might even fill some of the new potholes so you don't put a nice, big dent in your rims thanks to lower profile summer tires.

Yeah, I don't really wanna smack up my new rims, or kill my new tires.

SNOW STILL SUCKS @$$ THO!! :sweet:

*misslynn* 03-20-2005 08:57 PM

^^ you said it

Graphicdude 03-21-2005 01:44 AM

BWAHAHAHAaa........I have no sympathy for anyone that decided to jump the gun and start thier summer plans in march. I saw motorcycles out, a 645Ci BMW with $4G rims and numerous other suckers who thought it was aaaaaaaaaaallllllll over, sucks to be you!!! :)

dre2600 03-21-2005 02:02 AM

You could see winter coming again from a mile away, it never slowly fades away without one last gasp.

I even called around for tire quotes, just get everything ready, give it a month or so for the install.

All in favor of represnting all over Graphicdude, raise your hands!

J/K! It's no biggie. It just means we are all looking forward to having a blast this summer! :hgrin:

AzNBonD 03-21-2005 04:48 PM

I jumped the gun on putting my summer wheels/tires on at the beginning of the month. When it started crazy snowing I had to pull myself away from my homework and swap back to the winter tires.

In addition, I replaced my rotors and pads (w/ HPS's) and now like braking will set of the ABS in the snow :(

This weather is so frustrating and depressing.

buahahha.. umm sucks.. both my headlights blew.. grr and rear driver brake light blew.. grrr Hmm gonna try these GE Nighthawk... grr soo much money though.
I wonder if there is a problem with my wiring harness for the 2k1 sedans. Not sure, I think I'll leave the stock bulbs in for a little longer and see if they also blow.
