03+ s2000 or 03 civic turbo?

Im havein a little trouble decidin on getting an s2000 in about 4-6 months, or turboing my car in the next month. Swap is not an option... Does anyone have and sugestions? If I go s2000 I will proably end up turboing it or puting on a super charger, after I save some money and done with car payments proably.. What do you all think?

Kevbotron 06-16-2006 02:52 PM

S2K's are the tits, they will be a rare vehicle in the future as well, as they are talking about taking them off the market

greenEX 06-16-2006 02:54 PM

s2000 hands down. room for more mods later, which won't limit you like a civic turbo. Plus its a much better investment.

JB Dizzle 06-16-2006 02:56 PM

s2k all the way

vacivic2005 06-16-2006 03:03 PM

S2K, if not i'd swap the 7thgen

gearbox 06-16-2006 03:14 PM

eh turbo civic will be too much problem.

RHCP0801 06-16-2006 03:25 PM

s2000 :tup::tup:

DUDEitsMATTx 06-16-2006 03:54 PM

Yeah I was thinking the same while I was washin my car.. I was thinkin yah my civic looks nice its got rims and its slamed, but an s2000 sitin there in black, white, red, or dark blue would look alot better! And I tought about how the s2000 would proably beat my turbo civic and the s2000 would be stock and a million times more reliable.. Anyone readin this know and sites for rims, suspention, and stuff for sk2's? And Im gunna be doin auto cross and a s2000 would be alot more fun then a civic right?? RWD > FWD

vacivic2005 06-16-2006 03:57 PM

s2ki.net

i had the money for a downpayment for the s2k, i went to check with the insurance company on rates, and was told 5k/yr because of my driving record. so now i'm swapping a k-series into my em2 instead.

the civic was going to be my daily, and the s2k my weekend car. i'll get one later on if im interested still.

dont turbo unless you have an extra car.

Rennen 06-16-2006 04:04 PM

s2000

DUDEitsMATTx 06-16-2006 04:05 PM

Oh yah I forgot about insurance I need to call and find out how much.. And what do you mean that they are gunna stop makein s2000's?? Also why not turbo unless I have an extra car? I know alot of people that are turbo and its there daily driver. I would proably end up super chargein it since I herd its better since they dont have good TQ low end.

vacivic2005 06-16-2006 04:17 PM

you're a noob, and turbo takes skill and lots of maintenance to keep reliably.

there is no supercharger for a d17, unless you go k-series.

It was just a rumor I heard, I dunno how factual it is, but I can't understand it :_bow: s2k

down_ 06-16-2006 04:32 PM

ANd The S2000 WINS 14 to , no wait 15,16..17...18....19...... aww fu@k it...
just get the s2k. its not even an option not to lol what are you thinking?!?!?!

jhonsok 06-16-2006 04:36 PM

You dont even have to debate. If you have the chance to get an S2K. Just get it..Its just simply an amazing vehicle.

doubledeuce2k2 06-16-2006 05:19 PM

s2k by a mile

xkimsungminx 06-16-2006 05:55 PM

more like s2k by a thousand miles. you shouldn't even need to ask people about that.

chrisleecool 06-16-2006 06:02 PM

not sure how much extra money u have, but talking about Civic and S2k is just totally different man, but if you really want to turbo either cars, since you look like you don't know much about TURBO, try it with Civic and learn more from it then go with s2k

Civicman1988 06-16-2006 06:04 PM

S2K but turbo civic is cool. its ur prefernce

sil04ver 06-16-2006 06:57 PM

S2K....its the only thing thats keeping me from doing full suspension and boosting right now.

DUDEitsMATTx 06-16-2006 09:24 PM

Well if I turbo my civic then I have 2 get my tarny rebuild or get a new one cuz mine grinds in 3rd and I will have 2 get a new clutch. Also there is really nowhere around where I live that tunes so thats a bitch and a half.. And swap is soo much $ to put in a civic its half the cost the car.

matmat617 06-16-2006 09:49 PM

Well i say turbo the civic. the S2000 sux!(forgive me father, for i have sinned)

LOL ...... S2K ALL THE WAY!

DUDEitsMATTx 06-16-2006 10:38 PM

This one shop my by my house has an 03 s2000 with 27,000 miles i/h/e they want $18,000 for it, but its that one blue color with blue leather and i dident really like it..

vacivic2005 06-16-2006 10:48 PM

swap is definitely worth the price IMO, even though it's pricey, you have so much more potential with a new motor.

anyone can sell there car and get an s2k, but how many people do you see turboing or swapping their 7thgencivic. (of course you see it here, but in general, it's not a common sight.)

i have lots of friends with s2k's, and the furthest they go with the car is an intake, and an aftermarket radio.

DUDEitsMATTx 06-16-2006 11:10 PM

Well thats there own choice. And yah in my area there is NO k-swaps around everyone has B series, SRT-4,STi, and Evos.. But you never get the amount of $ you put in a car out of it so why put $7,000 in the motor when if you get in a werck its all gone, or if u sell it ur car value dont go up $7,000 so. But yah k-swaps are the shit I would love 2 do one but I cant, I like seein all the pics of peopls on here doin cuz its tight. But my civic needs 2 much work I have alot of dents and shit. So Im gunna tryin and get an s2000 in the next 6-10 months so, mine is just be a clean s2k. And last there are alot of SOHC turbos around my area they are kinda quick but just not enought.

Al Gore FTW 06-16-2006 11:48 PM

there is a strong level of n00b in this thread.

andyman97 06-17-2006 02:59 PM

Why spend 30k on a car that will be slower than your civic could be right away? Sure, an s2000 looks better, has a more powerful engine pound for pound but if you boost, you can smoke a stock s2000, plus, you won't have higher insurance payments, bigger car payments, etc.

If you like your civic, stick with it an go turbo. Get a spare motor and build it. Then put it in and take it to town. Have a 12 second civic instead of a 14 second s2000.

Civic_RedLine 06-17-2006 03:07 PM

why is everyone so afraid of turbo? I dont know by what you mean reliability, if all is done proper you wont need to worry about it. I never had problems with a turbo kit after installed, maybe intercooller pipe blowing imagine your intake hose coming loose, thats all

AzNmiKex215 06-17-2006 04:14 PM

i plan to have both! turbo 2k1 for daily use! haha its my first car so i will never let it go.

As for a "nicer" car. My list contains S2k, 350z, G35, or evo.

s2000 is a sweet and so is a turbo civic ( i know i have one) but as far as insurace on a s2000 for me its $450 a month, maybe cuz of the tickets..... but on the boosted civic its only $230... so think about that.
oh yeah.. who said you need an extra car to be boosted??
running 6psi to work and back... pretty happy nothing going wrong on this honda
