Never heard of it. Links and pictures would be nice.

I Goofed, TD04H is the 13G compressor housing, which is what came on my Talon. Small turbo...So small it's depressing

Did you mean TD04H? If so then that's probably a Mitsubishi 14B turbo kit...Not a bad turbo. Came stock on all MT 1900-1994 DSM's. Don't know how it would do on the D17, but I imagine it would be decent size for use on this engine.

se7engen_riDe 03-28-2006 01:06 AM

i dont knwo...the guy siad it was called "treo4". i guess he did mean TD04H turbo. miss type? dont know...but he said it was on his car for a while and he was happy with it.

01HonderCivic 03-28-2006 01:09 AM

Ignore this post, I goofed on the naming of the Turbos. TD04H is 13g, small turbo...
Unless you want a turbo with a Kick-in-the-balls level of power, it is a good turbo for street/some track. If it is a TDO4H, Get it ported. Porting makes them quite a bit better. I have an Automatic DSM (13G turbo...Smaller then 14B) And I ported the OEM mani and the turbo and noticed reduced spool times and a little more pull in the mid range...

se7engen_riDe 03-28-2006 01:35 AM

ohhh...you have an automatic civic with turbo?

01HonderCivic 03-28-2006 01:37 AM

No no no....I have an Automatic 92 Eagle Talon. I'm starting to think I don't want to turbo the D17, Unless I take the time and build the engine....

so u want to buy something from someone who doesnt even know what they have?

se7engen_riDe 03-28-2006 10:38 AM

^^^ well....ima check it out today. its still installed onto his car so yea. he gonna give me a ride so i can see how it is.

01HonderCivic 03-28-2006 10:48 AM

If you do go look at it, Look on the compressor cover (The shiny silver part of the turbo) It should say TD04H on it if it is a Mitsubishi Turbo.

se7engen_riDe 03-28-2006 12:28 PM

^^^ alright ill check for that.
another question. i have an automatic. ( really sucks too.) but do i have rebuild my auto tranny or what?

01HonderCivic 03-28-2006 12:42 PM

My Civic is a manual, but from what I've read, no matter what you do to the Autos on these cars, they're going to slip, no matter what. Boosted or not.

Ask Gearbox about his tranny, I'm sure he'd give you an earful about it

Rep for me?

Don't slip....Yet. Like I said, judging from the overall comments from people on here about autos, they're pieces of shit. I'm sure how you drive and how often you service it will take into effect if and when it will slip.

e04241 03-28-2006 04:38 PM

can we do turbo with stock internals, using minimum boost?

se7engen_riDe 03-28-2006 10:13 PM

^^^ i dont see why not.

Havok2k1 03-28-2006 10:16 PM

Never heard of a kit like that

check turbo FAQ for future inquiries.

se7engen_riDe 03-29-2006 01:33 AM

ive checked everything. didnt see anything that says treo4 turbo kits.

01HonderCivic 03-29-2006 01:36 AM

So what's the skinny on that kit your friend had? Any good you think?

turboengnr 03-29-2006 03:47 AM

A TE04 is basically just a T4 turbo.

T4 based turbos are usually for larger displacement motors. I believe that they were utilized on a certain year of Chrystler Minivan, along with many other vehicles.

The smallest On Center exhaust housing is an AR .58. The smallest Tangental Undivided housing is an AR .50. And the smallest Tangental Divided housing is an AR .58.
(if you dont know the difference between an "On Center", "Tangental Undivided", and "Tangental Divided" housing, then i recommend you do some research before you invest in a T4 based turbo)

Those housings (besides the Tangental Undivided) are all quite a bit larger than what you should utilize on our civics. When paired with a T04E housing, the spoolup time would be pretty bad for a daily driven car. But the top end power would be phenomenal.

se7engen_riDe 03-29-2006 04:07 PM

^^^ sooo...you saying that its not a good idea to install this turbo kit?
