04 tails don't fit older 7thgens bro. I've tried. the placement on the screws are different.

ummm are you sure cuz they are on there and im pretty sure a bunch of people have already done that soooooo.... yeah
oh and if you look at his lights they are 01-03 so thats the first clue that he has a 01-03 with 04-05 tails...

u were almost right tho. what differs is the plug sockets for the 01-03 and 04-05.

u just need to buy the harnesses that attach them together, unless goodtimes got it.
