1990 Eclipse GS + 323 + 2k2 EX
 

My friend recently purchased a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS with the 2.0 Liter engine. So we decided to take our cars out to an empty road (we live in Texas.... there are thousands of deserted roads). He honked, we launched we went up to about 90 MPH I was about 3 car lengths ahead of him. I was surprised that he coldnt keep up with me.... the whole race he was slowly falling behind me. I have a 2k2 EX 5spd coupe. I just wanted to use this as a reference. I also raced his 1991 Mazda 323 which lost.. at about equal distance...and ofcourse as speed increased so did the distance between us.

The lower trim level Eclipses aren't really that quick. I was surprised when I drove a 99 GS at how slow the acceleration actually was.

doesnt 1990 gs come with turbo?

A 1990 doesnt come 2 Liter from the factory. Isnt 90 still 1st gen Integra? Those things are real slow.

where did integra came from?

ya my friend has 90(i belive) or 91 GS turbo eclipise auto.. anyidea how fast those cars are?

Not sure, but should be 200+HP. 4G63 baby!!!

I thought only GS-T's, and GS-X's are the only mitsu eclipses to come standard with turbo's

yep .... all eclipse gs's are slow ... even the newest gen ones

Ya the new (2000 plus) RS and GS are 4 bangers and a 7th gen could take them .... a GT and GTS are respectable, but still not really that fast ... But I like it, and it suits me fine ...
