ran an STi, and scared away an SRT4
 

I was driving on a two lane road on the edge of town the other day, and had a blue STi behind me as we moved through traffic. I sped up a bit to give him a chance to get next to me. Eventually catching a light, we were lined up, but I heard no rev so I did not plan to launch. I tried to look over, but dark tinted windows prevented me from seeing into the car.

The light turned, and we both just kinda did a rolling start. Punching the gas, the STi started pulling on me slightly. Into 2nd gear, and I stopped his pull. He was maybe 3 feet ahead of me. Into 3rd, and I started to pull. By the end of 3rd I was ahead, and we were close to hitting traffic so he hit the brakes. I slowed down, and he had rolled down the window. Him and his passenger gave me a big thumbs up, and I smiled and waved. :)

Then, the next day, I had an SRT4 that had pulled ahead of me on a main stretch of road leaving town. It was still two lanes at this point, and I stepped up a bit to catch up to him. He got stopped at a light, so I sped up a bit more to try and line up with him.

Just as I got to the light, it turned green, and he launched and took off. I was still rolling about 5mph and just went, starting slightly behind him. I pulled on him quickly and he shut down at about 50mph, even though clear roads were ahead of us. He lingered behind for a bit, and never got up next to me after that. Eventually another light came up and turned red just as we were approaching. I started to slow down, and he downshifted and went through the light, even though he was behind me and had plenty of time to stop. lol. I guess maybe I scared him off after the first encounter? :D

it was definitely SRT4. hood scoop, annoying raspy crappy sounding dual exhaust, etc. and a regular neon would not have been anywhere near as close as this guy was on that first little jaunt.

SRT Design- a $750.00 option to an SXT that gives it the SRT spoiler, hood, look alike wheels, and a dual exhaust off of a muffler (like an R/T). To the untrained eye they look like an SRT4, with only the exaust giving it away (SRT4's dont have a muffer back there).

so much going on I almost lost this question.

shut down at 50? c'mon man... even i know the srt wasn't racing. my boy has one and it's very quick. what's in that s2000?

14's? I could run high 13's bone stock.

the gears allow the S2000 to hit about 13.3. educate yourself before speaking.

a stock SRT4 isn't even a challenge for my car.
