lt1 z28 vs. 2004 civic ex

ok gf got a 2004 honda civic and i'm impressed. I love driving the thing, it feels tight suspension wise and its peppy with it 5 speed. i was wanting to know what it would take to get it around the same 1/4 time as my camaro. i hav't been to the track since 2001 but then i ran 13.2 of course that was 4 years ago. is turbo the best route on a civic? price range for this time 3,500? What drivetrain problems would i run into

Curiouz_G 11-17-2005 01:01 AM

lol.... in order for a civic to even scratch 14's, it would take atleast 200whp and we start out with around 100ish with a stock 5spd...good luck though

to even get to high 13's such as a stock LT1 is capable of, you'd need FI or an engine swap. at least. :) lol

if you want to know more about turbo's, go to our Forced Induction forum. many very knowledgeable people there. do some searches, and ask some questions. :)

aight thanks man i'll check it out

Fastest way... sell it for something else.
Easiest way with this car, Turbo an Accord motor.

Michalo187 11-17-2005 09:54 PM

Guys don't be so negative. Believe me its gonna take a lot of time and money to get it to low 13's. There is more and more parts coming out for our civic.

CuRiOuSfIsH 11-17-2005 10:37 PM

there is no easy way.... any path you choose will cost $$ and take a lot of time and effort. To break into the low 13's as stated above, is engine swap with turbo.

Have to disagree with you there, I came pretty close with only 112whp. There are ways but you have to be willing to make sacrafices.

And yes to go low 13's it will take some motor work and either a big shot of N20 or a Turbo.

GeminiZ 11-24-2005 02:39 PM

just toss on an aem sticker it will give u instant hp and u'll be cruising with the mustangs all day

get the car light and get good suspension with some slicks/lenso's and make some power and ur on ur way.

TheSmuggler 11-30-2005 09:28 AM

Psshht just swap in an k20a and go all motor and youll see 13's, or swap in a k20a2 and boost that and run 11's lmfao

Michalo187 11-30-2005 10:11 AM

^^ Now that will take a lot of money but it would be worth it. I wish i could afford that

er1dani 11-30-2005 11:36 AM

There is someone on this forum who swapped a k series engine into their 7th gen and did some engine work and is around 230hp i believe. Hondalover or something like that is his name.

TheSmuggler 11-30-2005 11:51 AM

Iceburg slim runs 11's with a boosted k

Is your sig for real? You do realize you can turbo v8s too.

Spracto 12-03-2005 11:36 PM

lol yeah but it's more fun to see how much money we can dump into our civics trying to be faster than the v8s!

i have yet to see a turboed v8 anywhere. maybe the mercedes cars but i haven't seen mustangs or camaros that are boosted. idk. not around here. does stock count? stock supercharged mustangs maybe.

scansel912 12-03-2005 11:52 PM

Theres lots of turbo kits for V-8's. I can't think of any right now that come stock like that from the factory though. Look at like Lingenfelter corvette's or Hennessey Vipers. They have twin turbo kits for those engines.

MajinB 12-03-2005 11:54 PM

how many of those cars are owned by people my age? 20 btw

booba5185 12-04-2005 11:05 PM

Jesus christ, go upstairs out of your f*cking basement and tell you mom what you did for your 31st b-day, instead of loosing your virginity, you went to a civic website and looked like an ass.

booba5185 12-04-2005 11:14 PM

Did i ever pretended to be a ninja? NO. Did you come from other site that your so insecure about yourselves that you and a whole bunch of you idiot friends had to come to another site that you hate; yet cant stop coming back to to get banned? Yes.
