the most awkward thing about that triturbo supra is that its auto :susp:

anybody know if it is better to have an auto with high h/p numbers or what?

Awkward?! Awkward?! The auto Supra TT's are FASTER than the manuals on the 1/4 mile. Well, autos in general are better for some FI applications such as Nitrous I believe, but Supra TT is one of the few cars that is an exception to the rule that manuals are faster than autos

*edit* I mean think about it, an extremely well crafted automatic transmission (albeit very rare) should be able to shift faster than any human can possibly do.

It has diddley squat to do with shifting.. The fact the endineis always under load allows for constant boost to be maintained. With a manual..everytime you let go of the gas pedal to shift you loose all boost..then suffer some albeit minimal lag between gaining full boost again..

The Supra auto's can only support about 500HP though..any more and they self destruct..
