<< looks good so far, but u need to paint the door handle piece WHITE that is still SILVER... other than that, great job! >>

I dunno about white...everything i've painted is silver but just a light silver....i think white would be too bright or something. I'm going for the black/silver/blue interior. Thanks for the comments though!

TopFuel 05-23-2002 03:15 AM

<< wow that looks really good man... i must tell bf about tha paint you used... did you use any kinda special spray gun?:) >>

Nope...no spraying gun or anything...just skill! Its all in the wrist! Left to right motion and i had 2 coats of primer, 3-4 coatings of the silver...2-3 clear coat  Thanks for comments 7th gen memberS!

TopFuel 05-23-2002 03:25 AM

<< Looks very good. I am going to do mine is there anything I should do or not do before I paint? >>

Yeah..make sure you clean all the pieces first! I just used water and a towel but some people use certain chemicals? but water worked fine for me. Make sure you put enough coating of primer and silver(enough to match the full color of the paint you bought) and DEFINITELY put clear coat so it wont chip...mine hasnt chipped yet but its semi-easy to scratch...someone's keys put a slit on the center shifter console(only can see when you're actually inside, not too big). Good luck! This DIY was a sinch!

TopFuel 05-23-2002 03:27 AM

<< sweet job! how long did it take you? >>

One day i did the center console, the center shifter area console, and the air vents, another day i did the door handles and another day i did the gauges. I'd say i spent about a total of 5 hours taking my time and letting everything dry completely before i put everything back in. Thanks for your comments again everyone! << Topfuel yeah the peices that lead up to the cieling from your dash on the side of the car. Pink no he used spray paint. >>

Oh I see...Never thought of that...maybe i'll have updated pics later on if i plan on doing it hehe. But by mid-summer i should have a full sound system w/lcd screen and more strobes! So i'll post pics of that later on :)

TopFuel 05-23-2002 03:30 AM

Cool! First one to give me a "dead sexy!" :) Yep I painted everything myself! Unbelievable how easy it was and i've never done this type of stuff before. Just make sure you research the DIY before you did it if you plan on it in the future XoULaBeAT.
