You guys are so lucky to have EL parts around.
Enigmatic, if you have an ES, I'd try and look for a EL trunk, it'd look badass on an ES.

is it a direct bolt on? and wouldnt i have to replace the taillights also?

Re: Enigmatic jc's 05 sedan

Direct bolt on, as far as I know.
Tail lights come with the trunk.

Obvi the 04/05 reverse looks way better

i like the blue one with the reverse lights round... what year is that one from?

Re: Enigmatic jc's 05 sedan

According to the sale listing, it's from an 04.

I wonder if you could put the OEM ES1/2 flat spoiler on an EL bumper.
It would totally be unique and awesome looking.

I completely agree, I've passed up on 2 sets of RSX seats because I don't want to have black leather in the front and grey cloth in the back. Love those seats just wish there was a way to get the back seat to fit as well.

Car looks GREAT!
how do you like the ride comfort, I just bought 17" rims, probably going to drop it exactly like yours this summer if I find a good deal on the Tokico blues.

the ride comfort is alright...not as comfy as stock but you get used to it after the first week

nice! i just installed some el 1.7 rears, now I need to find some fronts...might go with the RSX...did you drill for the back bolts or just bolt in 3?

krudmuphin 03-20-2013 02:01 AM

Re: Enigmatic jc's 05 sedan

Yeah, but why would you want the EL lights? :P

Unique, yeah... but the Civic's trunk looks better IMO.
Mixing around the spoilers isn't a bad idea though. I'm sure you could get something interesting out of that.

I just don't see the appeal of an EL rear-end.

Get yourself a JDM sedan rear end and then we're talkin' :roflmao:

EDIT: oops, I was thinking of the JDM 8th gen. The 7th gen is virtually identical, lol

idk i guess i like how the lights go all the way to the rear license plate and how the reverse light is a circle...just comes down to personal preference i guess

anyways, krud, can you use your photoshop "skills":p to make my car have some white rims with the current rims i have now? just use one of the side views i have posted...thanks lol

EL rear ends on ES are sexy.

FD Rear ends on a FA are panty dropping.

I like how EL rears look, more aggressive.

Don't even need to do a photoshop to prove that white wheels on a black car are drop-dead gorgeous

What rims do you have in mind? Painting the same ones?

Not sure it would look good with the chrome ring. I'd do the whole rim white.
And i guarantee it will look great. My photoshop skills are not good enough to change black to white. The only way I can do that is to find an image of your wheel type that is already white or a light color close to it.

Yes sir, plug and play.
I also ordered some amber DC5 sidemarkers, might be taking the plunge into the fender!

Simply because it looks like a 18yr old's car instead of grampa's hand-me-down.
The tails are way more aggressive on the EL.
I'd do it if I had an ES. Even if I had to order it from Canada.

Just something you don't see often.

krudmuphin 03-22-2013 02:57 PM

Re: Enigmatic jc's 05 sedan

It would totally be cool and unique, no problem with that.
Just not a big enough cosmetic difference to justify the cost of a new trunk shipped from Canada, lol. It would look better if the lights were a bit thinner. It reminds me too much of an Accord in the rear.

Re: Enigmatic jc's 05 sedan

Pretty sure it wouldnt be too hard, perhaps splicing into the wiring, and hooking it up to an ebay foglight switch.

krudmuphin 03-28-2013 12:18 PM

Re: Enigmatic jc's 05 sedan

If you got those fogs of ebay, you're gonna have a hard time, trust me.

I paid my experienced body shop / mechanic neighbor to install mine and he was baffled by how the ebay kit was wired. Eventually he figured it out, giving them a separate line and fuse from the headlights.

The hardest part though, is tearing apart your car just so you can run a little switch into your dash. I took the easy route and installed my own switch in a removable panel under the steering column.

You're the second person I've seen who's had a problem with the fog light wiring...it must be a specific kit or something, cause my ebay fogs were simple...plug constant power into the existing socket in the fuse box, plug switched power into the existing fuse box, put the OEM style switch in the existing location, run power through the firewall, and ground the lights to the body. The hardest part for me was cutting the holes and mounting the lights, the rest took me about 30 min.

But I dont think it really matters when you have black car...

It only really makes a difference if your car is a different color.
