My 2003 Civic Si (Ex) Coupe

Got the car last year with around 120000km and now at 135000km. Here are the following upgrades i've done so far...

1. mini morimoto h1 retrofit /w 4300k bulbs (i really liked how sl33pyriceboi's retrofit turned out so I decided to try the same setup)
2. rsx rear sway bar (best money spent so far!)
3. viper 5901 remote start and alarm
4. upgraded stock sound system with jbl components, 12" alpine type r, alpine amps, and pioneer single din deck (looking to get a double din deck with nav)
5. oem style fogs /w osram night breaker plus h11 bulbs

Future mods:

1. either veloz or acura EL sides (not sure what front and rear lips to get yet...)
2. suspension upgrade (thinking a nice set of coilovers since I would like to adjust the height for winter driving)
3. new set of rims and tires

Here's a pic I took a few days ago after wash, clay, polish, and wax job. Pretty much stock looking except for the headlights lol

Looks great!

The RSX rear sway should be mandatory for anyone modding 7th gens, huge impact for very little cost :)

Haven't updated in awhile... got a pair of reverb side skirts and mugen front lip installed yesterday. Was a bit worried about fitment issues with the front lip but it turned out alright

Next up will most likely be a drop.

I took off the deflector once and felt like it looked better with it on so I reinstalled it. It's nice cause it sorta blends in with the black paint.

Yea, it's a mugen style lip. I tried looking for a polyurethane lip but had to settle with ABS plastic. Here's a clearly picture of the lip

Looking good man. I would love to do some rsx sway bars. But I need to do some basic repairs first.

Re: My 2003 Civic Si (Ex) Coupe

Got around to spray painting my mugen style front lip myself which turned out pretty good for using rattle cans. I used the rattle can clear coat which also had hardener that you activated prior to using it. Everything turned out very shiny except for a tad bit of orange peel but that can prob be fixed with some wet sanding. Tried taking some pictures with my iPhone camera but the lip never shows up in the picture lol I'll post a pic when I find my digital camera.

update: finally got a good pic of the lip I painted myself with rattle cans lol It's a tad bit darker than the factory paint but I think that's because the factory paint has had some discolouration over the past 7-8 years

Currently working on polishing my fat five rims and I must say that this is probably the most tedious job i've ever done so far... Took me around 5 hours to completely sand and polish the first rim. So far i've got 2 completely done and the third one just needs to be polished with some mother's MAG polish. The rims look so much better after polishing mainly because they were in such rough condition before (curb rash, corrosion, clear coat chipping away, etc...)

Also ordered a neuspeed strut bar that should be coming in next week so i'll be looking forward to installing it and hopefully it'll help with the awful steering dead zone that's present in 7th gen civics.

This question is probably more geared towards fellow Canadians... i'm considering upgrading my suspension and was wondering which would be the best place that has decent prices and shipping to Canada. I would like to avoid any place that uses UPS or fedex mainly because of their stupid brokerage fees. Right now i'm considering going with tokiko hp struts and eibach pro kit springs.

Yea they look good for now... that is until winter takes it's toll on them lol. I saw your build thread and I am super jealous of the features that are available in the EDM civics and what you did with your interior is very nice

I had quite a bit of free time this evening and decided to tidy up my audio install that I did last winter. Seeing how damn cold it was, I didn't bother mounting the amps and just left them sitting in the trunk lol Wasn't a good idea cause there was one time where one of my amps ended up bottom up

Still need to zip tie some wires down and some minor things but this is is the result.

http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/429/dsc04396je.jpg
This is the amp (alpine mrp-m500) for my sub and to mount it, I simply screwed down a piece of mdf to the chassis behind the carpet and mounted the amp onto the board.

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/9200/dsc04397e.jpg
Sub: 12" Alpine Type R 500w rms. The enclosure needs to go though; only using it cause it came with the sub when I bought it used.

Rear speakers: JBL GTO 928 2 way 100w rms. I contemplated on removing the trunk springs cause they got in the way of the speaker but I ended up using a spacer. The magnet still touches the spring a little when the trunk is closed tho :_disgust:

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/2947/dsc04401s.jpg
Amp: JBL GTO 1004 4 channel 600w RMS . Using this guy to power my rear speakers and front JBL P660C comps. Mounting the amp was super easy. Shoved a piece of plywood in-between the seat and screwed the amp down onto the piece of plywood. It took me a couple of tries before I was able to mount the amp so that the seat would be able to be folded back without interfering with anything. I tried my best to keep the rca and power cables as far apart as possible.

http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/7219/dsc04400z.jpg
Deck: Pioneer DEH-P4200UB. I have always used pioneer decks in the past mainly because they have lots of features, good sound quality, and simple to navigate. Only problem I have with pioneer decks is the stupid PICO fuse. I've already blown the one on my deck and had to manually ground the rca shields to the chassis.

The most reasonable shipping to Canada I've found is USPS.

Outstanding work with the wheels, polishing wheels is tedious work but well worth it.

+rep, keep up the good work.

Do you know of any good online places for struts and springs that ship to Canada

I first sanded down the abs plastic surface with 600 grit sand paper than sprayed 2 layers of duplicolor's adhesion promoter. For primer, I used 3-4 layers of spot filler primer. Before I applied the base coat, I wet sanded with 800 grit.

For clear coat, I used this:http://img2.wantitall.co.za/images/S...x9V%2BtyGL.jpg I got mine at a local CMAX dealer for about $15. It has a little red cap at the top that you take out and insert into the bottom of the can. You push in the cap to activate the hardener that's inside.

I highly recommend this clear coat for small jobs like painting lip kits and you don't have a HVLP gun and adequate sized compressor. I was pretty surprised of how shiny it came out when I finished spraying the third layer. The down side of this type of clear coat is that you must use the whole can within 48 hours or else the clear coat inside completely hardens.

washed and waxed my car today and will probably be the last time since winter is just around the corner. also put on my snow tires... a bit early but it's starting to get close to 0 degrees C and don't want to be stuck changing my tires in sub zero temperatures. Bring on the snooooow!!!

couple of quick pics i took in the evening

I'm not exactly sure of the tint % since I bought the car used and it was a factory tint job. I would guess it's around 40% front / 35% rear, I find that it's still not dark enough. I've actually been thinking of bringing it to a shop and getting a darker tint
