My EM2 Well, following along with some of the other lurkers, here are a few pics of the ride...they go in order from old to new, so you will notice a couple of differences between the pics. Anywhoo: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/m...ture2504-a.jpg https://www.civicforums.com/forums/m...ture2505-a.jpg https://www.civicforums.com/forums/m...ture2507-a.jpg https://www.civicforums.com/forums/m...ture2509-a.jpg Probably should have cleaned her before I took that one lol. https://www.civicforums.com/forums/m...ture2511-a.jpg https://www.civicforums.com/forums/m...ture2510-a.jpg https://www.civicforums.com/forums/m...ture2512-a.jpg And there you have it! Not the nicest looking em2 out there, but I'm gonna work on it :) |
Re: My EM2 Welcome! I like the silver on your trim pieces inside! |
Re: My EM2 nice, lots of cool stuff going on |
Re: My EM2 are u boosted? or are those just ricer guages? is that a carputer or just a headuint? i like the steering wheel not a fan of the rims, but each to his own. a drop would set you off well. |
Re: My EM2 some nice suff, alot nicer looking then most cars on the road (not just civics). |
Re: My EM2 Not feeling the rims either, Nice Carputer though And paint looks in excellent condition :) Btw, what is that plug next to your 12v? |
Re: My EM2 Well, since everyone said it now, I don't like the wheels either.. Aside from that, very clean! |
Re: My EM2 I actually don't mind the wheels. It does need a drop though. All in all a great looking car :) |
Re: My EM2 Thanks for the comments! And to answer a few questions... are u boosted? or are those just ricer guages? is that a carputer or just a headuint? Asus AT5IONT-I board, integrated atom dual core, hdmi out, 512mb dedicated video memory, 4gigs DDR3, 64gb SSD. All connected to the 8" Touch screen. I just finished it last week. not a fan of the rims, but each to his own. a drop would set you off well. Btw, what is that plug next to your 12v? |
Re: My EM2 kudos on the carputer. i have one myself. take more pixs of it! and closer shots! is it molded in? what kinda screen is that? where do u store ur carputer? haha i have too many questions! |
Re: My EM2 Lol, carputers are awesome, I want my own, when i can afford it Have you upgraded your alternator? You seem like running a LOT of electronics in your car, how's the system holding up? I would suggest more ricey rims than ghetto rims on a vic Something like Konigs/BuddyClub with red lip would look wicked on your car Btw, start a build thread! I would like to see your progress, if you taken pix |
Re: My EM2 im poor. i can only afford rotas. haha but my slipstreams are 13lbs. huge difference in acceleration and handling guys... huge. |
Re: My EM2 I actually like Rotas, just not slipstreams Grid racing looks nice on a stock vic with lip I'm debating wether on getting some Rota Grids or Konig bumps on mine IMO, these would look good on your car OP, if you slammed it http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg |
Re: My EM2 is it molded in? what kinda screen is that? where do u store ur carputer? haha i have too many questions! And about those Konigs, very nice...what is the approx retail on those puppies? I don't have a lot of cash to spend...the old ones were 1200 including tires, so I don't wanna spend all that much more if possible. Oh and I do have pics of the carputer during initial construction, which I could post sooner or later... Lastly, because I forgot to answer the question; the alternator in the car is an oem replacement for one that blew, but it's rated at 85 amps, as compared to the oem 70 amps, so it's a bit better at handling everything. |
Re: My EM2 Konig bumps run anywhere between 90~150 each, depending on size. So with tires probably around 700 installed, then balancing, alignment, and lowering springs, will run you a grand total, not more and nice replace on alt, is it rewound? I wanna get mechman alternator.....but....then again, im not planning to throw more money into my vic, maybe next car |

Re: My EM2 Hence reason 1, and 2 :P |
Re: My EM2 hhaha... i hate u </3 haaha jk |
Re: My EM2 haha.. yea, a drop would do you well. How much do you plan to lower it? oh, and there's a dude selling konig feathers for $250. I'm sure shipping to canada would suck though.. One of the tires has a bit of a dent in it tho.. I'd nab em if I didn't have rims, but that's just me. |
Re: My EM2 Shipping is close to $200 on the Konigs to Washington state :( |
Re: My EM2 where in ontario are u located? |
Re: My EM2 buy from here. free shipping. and very reasonable prices. http://www.jlbmotorsports.com/store/...cPath=32_23_83 |
Re: My EM2 I'm located in Barrie Ontario, so that place won't ship for free :( although wheels next does, and they offer some decent wheel and tire packages including mounting and balacing, so I might see what they have available. And in terms of the drop, I would really like to look at some "inexpensive" height-adjustable coilovers, cause i live in a small city now, so I can go pretty low in the summer, but I'm still driving it in the winter, so I'll need to be able to raise it back up when the snow comes. |
Re: My EM2 You shouldnt cheap out on suspension, Decent coilovers will run you back around $400 |
Re: My EM2 Well 400 isn't bad...provided I am actually making money next year...but I'm definitely diggin the konigs...sad that wheelsnext doesn't carry them...the search continues...well at least I have a few months of winter to decide. So many mods I wanna do, and no money for parts :( I need to find myself a better job lol. |
Re: My EM2 400 for decent coils? decent coils should be at LEAST 600+ i dont know of any coilovers that are 400. |
Re: My EM2 I think Kenny is confusing coilovers and coilover sleeves, they aren't the same thing. For a decent set of sleeves you wouldn't be able to spend less than $450, for full coilovers you'd be starting around $1000. Not to mention if you want to run slammed, your going to spend at least another $600 replacing other suspension components or they'll start failing. Before you guys jump on me about pricing, he's in Canada so things cost a lot more even shipped from American companies. If money's tight, lowering springs are the answer for you. A set of tein stechs only costs $175, they won't cause major problems on an otherwise stock suspension and you can just swap your OEM springs back in for the winter. I swap between lowering springs and OEM springs every winter, and it takes me less than 2 hours. |
Re: My EM2 Yea I figured as much, although there are coils you can get for about 375, and I can't remember the name, but they were a full bolt on kit, minus the camber adjustment parts and so on...but reviews were saying that for a dd, they do the job, not that I'm interested in purchasing something that cheap, but just pointing it out. I still have time though to make up my mind, with the amount of snow we've been having. |
