Shaved Trunk I copied/pasted this from a local forum so the shop names might not mean a whole lot to you guys..... All cars purchased from Honda have a 5 year rust protection warranty meaning they'll take care of any rust that bubbles through the paint from the back. My trunk had 2 TINY pinholes of rust that were almost impossible to see but when I brought it by T&T they made an appointment for me at Contemporary Coachworks. I put the car in Tuesday and they called me Thursday to say it was available. Sitting in my car gets me high on paint fumes! When I originally called to get an estimate over the phone, they said $300 to shave the H so I called Dan at Screamin' Paintworks and he said he'll prep it for $150 and then I can just bring it by Contemporary Coachworks to do the rest of the trunk and paint it. Problem was when I got to Contemporary Coachworks, they told me they won't work over someone else's work, I had to get it all done there. So I asked how much it would be and the guy told me $800....... So then I had him get a manager out to look at it and he told me $150, my reply was, "Write it up!" And it was another $50 to have them paint the black moulding strip over the license plate. I think it looks much better, now just got to paint my door handles, mirrors and get a new grille to be completely badgeless! I even had them fix a NASTY scratch on the edge of my trunk under warranty, even though it wasn't part of the agreement with T&T. I mentioned it seeing if they'd do it under miscommunication and they did! T&T helpfulness and service = (no argument, got me a loaner for 3 days) Contemporary Coachworks service = (waited forever, had wrong people helping me) Contemporary Coachworks quality = so far, have to check the creases 2001 automatic Civic sedan they loaned me = (that thing sucked balls but got me to work) On with the show.... http://danmaher.com/pictures/albums/.../1_G.sized.jpg http://danmaher.com/pictures/albums/.../2_G.sized.jpg http://danmaher.com/pictures/albums/.../6_G.sized.jpg http://danmaher.com/pictures/albums/.../5_G.sized.jpg http://danmaher.com/pictures/albums/.../4_G.sized.jpg |
