K24 Tuned Today I finally got the motor tuned today by Joe at Locash Racing in Phoenix,AZ. He pulled out 212hp and 178tq with an ambient temp of 110 degrees in his shop. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q...t/DSC02111.jpg I built and swapped the whole thing in my garage k24a8 block...k24a2 pistons and rods...k20a2 head...6spd K20a2 tranny Heres the nearly finished product...I still have to relocate the radiator overflow reservoir, getting AC lines made tomorrow, and I want to do a quasi wire tuck http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q...t/DSC02119.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q...t/DSC02118.jpg |

Re: K24 Tuned Today Nice!! Why do u have that PS return line routed like that?? I have mines going the other way so it doesnt stand out as much. |
Re: K24 Tuned Today wow thats ****ing nice! btw is that a real mugen strut tower or a replica? is it from a rsx too? |
Re: K24 Tuned Today so what is the wieght difference between a k20 or k24 and a d17? did you account for the wieght difference in your suspension? |
Re: K24 Tuned Today awesome torque number man. i thought the hp would be a bit higher but i bet the torque feels sweet. |
Re: K24 Tuned Today he made higher than any person with boost on 5-6 psi tuned with the dezod kit .. **** thats a niceeeeeeeee setup man nice numbers, 212 !!!!!!! 178 !!!! omggg maddd props |
Re: K24 Tuned Today i have a stock k24a1 bottom end with k20a2 head..do u think i'll get around the same numbers or what... |
Re: K24 Tuned Today Thats a big mama jamma under that hood and surprised it even fits. Congrats on the setup, I'm dying to know how it drives around town. |

Re: K24 Tuned Today With stock head, stage III cam, old turbo, on 7 psi, I was over 220 whp.... But that's kickass for an auto, very impressive. Too bad there isn't much more it can handle before the tranny goes.... |

Re: K24 Tuned Today yah how much have u spent ... thats key .... + u definately dont have the fun wee do with booost u just got faster , we go faster and go PSHHHHHHHH |
Re: K24 Tuned Today ^ the dollar figure is in the previos post of mine. One thing i have that most of you boosted guys dont have is my motor has less than 100 miles on it. I built that thing from the crank up with new parts. So I am essentially making that much power on a stock honda motor which means my reliability is way higher. I am fully aware that some of you boosted guys actually do it correctly so you still have the reliability(andyman). I have no intentions on adding any more performance to the motor. I am done with performance mods. My goal was more power(than the d17) with reliability. My fast car is going to be my 1966 porsche 912. |
Re: K24 Tuned Today COOL!! snipercout i have followed your build you did a great job on the whole thing. hae fun with it. |
Re: K24 Tuned Today ^Hahaha, we all say that at one point or another. The bug always starts to itch at some point.... |
Re: K24 Tuned Today Oh i want to add more. But I have strong will power and I know the 912 is a better platform for power. I can get my 912 to run circles around the em2 for less than 2 grand. |
Re: K24 Tuned Today lol .. sniper 6 grand is amazing for a k24 built swap .. my buddy just dropped a k20a2 for 8500 with kpro here in canada at a shop ... 6 grand is pretty damn good for a k24 built, i can't believe u wouldn't boost her and fly over ur porsche .. **** the circles lol |
Re: K24 Tuned Today about 6grand is all good k24 longblocks are cheap around here 800 and under. Just find a total rsxs and your good to go. |

Re: K24 Tuned Today great build D. now bring it back over here and lets hit the track.... my N/a tuscani Vs your K24. you got me on all aspects... wight, Hp, and Tq. My car is still sexier though... hurry up with that porsche though... i wanna see it done. should be alot different from the 98hp car i once drove. you ever get the rest of your guage cluster working? |

Re: K24 Tuned Today when i asked if u took the wieght difference into account when u swapped, I meant cuz if the engine is significantly heavier, wouldn't u have a lot more understeer with any aftermarket suspension designed for a car with a d17? Also another thing i really wanted to know... do the hasport motor mounts make your car vibrate a lot? or does it not make that much of a difference? Would u say that it would be good to swap for a daily driver? |
Re: K24 Tuned Today there is a significant addition in the vibration. It isnt bad though. The car is my DD. I hear of some people replacing the rear mount on the subframe with the rsx mount to remove some of the vibration. I am unable to tell you any difference due to the extra weight, especially since I removed the front sway bar for my header |
Re: K24 Tuned Today so with out that front sway how does it handle? I got billit motor mounts on the tibby now and the vibration feels good... more aggressive feeling. |
