Re: My 7th Gen Pics whats with this site with the double posting crap |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics click once |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics so you put like a foot of pipe on the end of the airbox? that probably hurts performance with the just having the open pipe. it needs a better air entrance transition. look into a velocity stack lip for it if you insist on the very interesting design for the intake... |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics looks good are you planning on getting some wheels |

Re: My 7th Gen Pics DONT get a front sway bar. please get a rear. |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics why what wrong with front? I was planing on the stock not oversized. |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics car is cool but the grill? whats up with that? it looks recessed like a receding hairline....badddddd....otherwise its cool |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics take the pipe off, it looks horrible |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics ya you should get your grille replaced before you do an ex head swap. and then forget about doing the ex head swap. but looks alright man |

Re: My 7th Gen Pics well this pretty well explains why it can hurt performance : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velocity_stack I think the pipe looks kinda off and would be better to have it off until you get the new one. Did you mean camber kit not chamber? I agree just leave the front bar alone and look into getting an rsx-s rear sway bar instead to try and get the car more neutral instead of the understeer it has stock. plus the sedans have a larger front bar stock than the coupes if i remember right. The tru power pulleys really wont do much for you i would suggest spending your money on something else perhaps a stage 1 cam to go with that head swap? the stage one would have a noticeable increase where the pulleys wouldnt. I wouldnt do a head swap personally cause its a head ache waiting to happen but its up to you man i wont stop you. what kind of grill is that? I like how it looks but dont like how its sits so far back. i would say gets some rims first cause the car just looks so stock lol |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics After this 5g check comes in i will have a AEM V2, Eibach pro street coil-overs, EX head conversion, tower bar, chamber kit, TRU power pully, sway bar (front), and maybe some rims and tires depending on how much wheel well i have left. |

Re: My 7th Gen Pics don't spend that 5k on your civic, save up and buy something more nice. |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics ^"something nicer" not more nice... sorry...english minor |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics well, if you have 5k to spend and want power, just get a dezod turbo kit...that'll be the most power you'll get with a stock d17 |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics the whole things not going into the car. I have bills to pay. and givin the fact that my credit is crap I dont have alot of options. Its not how much money u spend on your car its how much time you invest taking care and upgrading your car form the platform you have to work with that makes you reputable. my grill is coming in the mail that crap is just there to stop rocks and stuff from poking holes into the trans cooler. I switched the headlights so I wanted to see what the car would look like without the OEM grill, I like it better. As for the intake im waiting for the tower bar and head to see what kind of clearance I have for an new intake so I can get rid of the stock air box. For now it works fine and the HP difference speaks for it all. The car performs much better with the AIR SILENCER BOX OFF; remember its just a LX all stock motor. The exhaust slant is due to the fact that it was the first welding job i have ever done. My grandpa gave me a MIG, and I was playing with it. I DONT HAVE A GARAGE, LIFT, FRIENDS THAT OWN, SO ITS ALL DONE IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH JACKSTANDS AND BY MYSELF. Not to mention the fact that I have a 91 civic lowering kit that I had to retro fit on. 2.5" drop CRAZY good turns. Have whopped up on a S60 R AWD with 340 WHP like nothing else, on a local back road. |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics The funniest part is every one is so worried about putting parts on there car that are made for track / drag applications and dont realize that its gonna mess your car up more than help. Daily drive a drag car and see what happens LOL. Most of us have DD see how long there motor lasts VS modifications. I HAVE A 2005 CIVIC VALU NOT EX, DX, LX, ECT.... NO ADDED WEIGHT. NO SWAYS. GONNA PUT STOCK FRONT SWAY ON NOT OVERSIZED. |
Re: My 7th Gen Pics And by the way just because its a D17 doesnt mean shit there are plenty of ppl on here with 200-300 whp D17's. Its all how you tune it. |

Yes the car doesnt response as well as the DOHC engines but doesnt mean you cant enjoy modding the car. Just dont expect unrealistic gains for your bolt on parts ie I/H/E . I would suggest getting a regrind for your Lx camshaft instead of going to the Ex. The Ex heads vtec sucks and just adds restriction by keeping an intake valve closed before the vtec engages. You can get the same gains with a higher lift on your A1 camshaft without the hassle of swapping a head. I just thought i would share the info with you. I might also suggest you look into a upgraded torque converter with a tranny cooler seeing as the auto tranny is very weak from the factory and will die quick with any power increase. I really didnt know the VP didnt come with a front sway thats odd. I thought they all came with a front bar at least. |
