Re: Engine Bay: Cleaned it up a bit how did you clean it? Mind doing a DIY? I'm a newbie :( |
Re: Engine Bay: Cleaned it up a bit I use simple green and hot water to clean mine |
Re: Engine Bay: Cleaned it up a bit looks good man, def needed the bath... |
Re: Engine Bay: Cleaned it up a bit Thanks guys. As for the DIY I took an old towel, got it fairly wet, and wiped everything within reach. I worked from left to right, then wiped down the hood. By the time I was done with the hood, the left side was bone dry. From there I just used some armor all cleaning wipes (not the leather or "shine" wipes) and hit everything I could get my fingers on. Then let it sit over night, and came back to it in the morning to go over a few spots. I wasn't able to reach everything, and there were some surfaces (AC compressor housing and other such items) that just wouldn't get any cleaner. Over all, it took about an hour for the first pass with the wet towel. Then about 2 hours of the cleaning wipes. And the next morning, I spent about 30 - 45 minutes hitting the corners, and re-wiping a few areas. The next day I shined up the wifey's bay as well. Time well spent: The cleaning all went down about a week ago, and both cars still look great. |
Re: Engine Bay: Cleaned it up a bit Sounds good... i just might have to try that to get my cleaner...instead of throwing water str8 on it.... |
Re: Engine Bay: Cleaned it up a bit Only thing is "rust proofing" makes that babby a mess. Not shore if its worth the wipe down? Would be doing the opposit of the rust proofing thats all over the hood no? |
Re: Engine Bay: Cleaned it up a bit Looks alot better! Nice job! Wagner :shake: |

Re: Engine Bay: Cleaned it up a bit Looks really nice. My grandpa gave me a tip I'm going to try, he said he's used Suzuki motor wash on engine bays and it gives real nice results. |
