Hey guys I finally got around to installing my rear camber kit! I've had this for a month and finally had time. It was a pretty simple install but ran into ONE problem. The welding on the new camber kit fell off while i was trying to line it up on the car evenly. Bummer, but i still managed to get it on and get it on tight. Another problem was now that I have it installed, my rear tires ALWAYS scrape on even the smallest dips, also on some turns. Will getting an allignment fix that? Anyways here are some pics from teh phone.

would you recommend driving it 35 miles (30 of it twisty canyon roads) to work?? shiiiittt.. if not, i have to drive the vespa.. haha

yea, 35 miles is no biggie, 100 would be no biggie, it will just screw up ur tires if u do a whole lot more than that

Great! I'm glad that should'nt be a problem. I'm definately getting it alligned tomorrow. I have a really good coupon for the honda dealership out here for an all wheel allignment for 45 bones. But someone told me that honda doesnt allign lowered cars. Maybe it's probably select dealerships...

And yes! About the wheel wells, i actually was considering it.. but didn't do it.. haha :/

they will do it, ur car isnt that low, they shouldnt have a problem with it, dont tell them u have a coupon till u pick it up, or they might try to get out of it cuz u have a lowered car

ur gonna have krazyyy rubbing issues if u decide to drop it too much...

im running 215/50/16r...

i have rolled my rear fenders but that stupid....stupid...STUPID bumper screw scrapes my tires like mad....

(im drop so that there is a .5cm gap in my rear....)


also, u might wanna considering getting at least 1.25-2 degrees of camber so you'll minimize ur chances of scraping

Hey guys i just got back from the dealership to get my car alligned and i have to tell you.. i am not very satisfied with their job. My passenger rear tire still scrapes pretty bad while turning or running over small dips. they charged me 100 bucks to do this too and waited in the waiting room for just a little after 5hours klsdjalfkreds dfkdsfkj akljdafkj asdfkljsdfkljsdfsdf

im not the kind of guy to complain but i am really upset now because i live in the middle of nowhere and have to drive quite a bit to get to places. should i complain to them? or go back their tomorrow and have them fix it?

did you tell them your problem when you went into the dealership?? or did you just say I need an alignment? If you didn't tell them your problem, and that you needed more negative camber to prevent the tires from scraping, your pretty much SOL. If you did tell them about the scraping problem, and said you needed that fixed, and they didn't do it, then you should go back and complain.

u are rubbing the fenders, just jack it up, and roll a baseball bat on the inside of the fenders, it aint pretty, but it works, its what i did, u cant see it on the outside, but at least ur tire wont rub, if ur tire keeps rubbing, it will destroy ur sidewall, and then ull need new tires, all they did was align it according to honda, which is was most alignment shops will do

Yeah i told them that it did scrape in the first place and they said they aligned it evenly but for some reason the side that scrapes sits a little bit higher than the side that doesnt. When i took it back to them earlier they said there isn't anything they could do. They gave me the option of getting different springs in the rear... i guess i dont have a problem getting new ones, but hopefully that will fix it. And also rolling the fenders with a baseball bat like green01 did.

But i did remember that the spring install was not done correctly... the passenger front sits a tad bit higher and makes popping noises when i turn. How could i forget about that? You think if i reindex the strut/spring comb. in the front passenger, would somehow possibly fix the scraping in the passenger rear? The mechanics at the dealerships did tell me and show me that they both were aligned evenly... and if reindexing the strut does not work, then i guess i will have to buy rear springs that doesnt drop 2"

I still don't understand how you cannot get your tires you stick a little inwards. You bought a camber kit, and it still sticks past the fender?? How many degrees of negative camber does you kit allow??

You could try new tires. 205/40/17 might be a better size, but a harsher ride. 215/45/17 is your first problem. Tires are too wide. I had 215's at one point, and they didn't rub, but I wasn't lowered at the time. I rubbed with 205/45/17. I have to get 2 degrees of negative camber on each of the rear tires for them not to rub.

Some people will say 215's fit fine, but it really depends on your setup, and it varies from car to car. With 205/40/17, I don't think anyone here had or has problems with rubbing. 205/40 is a safe size to go with. However, like I said its a harsher ride, so choose wisely.

i'm sure the camber kit can go way more negative. the guys at the dealership said they set the camber on the rear at -0.6 degrees and the other side at -0.7 degrees and the specified range for camber on the rear is -1.6-0.1... and when i asked if they can just adjust it a little bit more negative they said they had to redo the whole process and align everything else again, thus charging another 100+ bucks.. is that true? is there anyway that i can just jack up the car and turn it a little bit til its a little bit more negative? since camber doesnt ruin the tires (toe does) will it affect the toe? i just hate how my sidewalls are being destroyed now...

and i was considering going 205/40's!!! but i read through these forums that 215/45 looked best on our cars. but if i could go back to the day i'd get those tires if it wouldnt scrape against the fender... man... if i could go back i'd change a lot of things i did to this car...
