New projectors Has anybody had problems with projectors fogging up on them. If so is their a fix or should i return it before its to late. Im most likely going to return them if the ebay store will send me out some news ones. Just waiting for thier response till then heres some pics takin in front of the luxor http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a300/jr6784/luxor.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a3...4/mandalay.jpg |
yeah mine fogged up for like a day then it went away. I think it was just the bulbs burning the fresh air the housing. |
tight man, nice look overall....what type of projectors are they?? |
Their just some projectors off ebay, they were 230. That will just give me some time to save up for some hid's and retrofit those into my old heallights. But these actually light up pretty well. hope the angel eyes dont burn out anytime soon but ill see |
post a pic with them on :) |
any closer daytime pics? |
many, if not all aftermarket projector headlights are not made to the same standards as OEM headlights. so, you will more likely than not get fogging issues with them. you can fix the problem by taking out the aftermarket headlights and resealing them with a bead of silicone. |
Looks good, I say do a retro fit with some hid's when you get a chance. And what springs are you on your car is slammed! |
I just got my projectors too! They only fog a bit in the corners whenever I rotate the screws in the back to align the beam pattern. I guess it lets a small amount of moisture in, but other than that, they've been fog free! Just got out of a car wash this morning by the way with no fog at all. |

I have the same ones i had last time, i just lowered it alittle more once i got my rear camber kit. They are the skunk2 coilovers with the tokico blues. I plan on doing the retro once i get everything i need and read up on it more. that way it comes out nice. |
Man this sucks if i got to reseal them myself, why cant they just seal them good when they make the dam things. Havent heard from the ebay store yet. I really not lokking forward to taking them out again and then reinstalling them but if thats what i got to do then i guess thats all i can do. Ill post some day time pics soon for those who want to see them in the daytime. |
it prolly wont matter, mine fog too and they are completely sealed except for the vents. they only fog when it gets really humid out. in the cold and warm i have no probs, just depends on weather i guess. if you get another set im sure they will do the same, it has to do with the projector lens itself, since it gives very little heat off from the lens, it doesnt evaporate the water vapor inside. with stock the bulb heats the whole headlight and keeps the water in the air so it doesnt condense. i have hid and its even worse cause they hardly get warm at all. so the back of the light is warm from the engine bay and the front is freezing cold from the wind, so guess what happens when warm air meets cold lol. nothing you can do. and there is no way to keep moisture out of the headlight unless you vacuum seal them, which isnt possible. having the vents in back helps to equalize the pressure so at least the fog goes away in an hour or so. |
I'm selling a hid kit that fit these projectors for anyone that's interested. |

nah dont do that. it wont last long anyway and it will make the outside fog then. its weird stuff. you could try to put in some silica dessicant packs but eventually it will absorb max moisture and stop working. |
car looks good as usual moses!! we still got to setup a b-ball game with logan. |
They look good! Is it fogging from you washing the car or fogs by itself? You will probably have to reseal them like everyone has been saying because a lot of aftermarket companies do not seal them very well because I guess they are just manufactured cheaply and quality control is not that high. And I have heard of many people just tossing in those Sillica packets to help reduce moisture. Good luck! :) |
Luckly i live in vegas where it gets hot as hell outside in the summer so hopefully the lights dont fog up as much then and i will just have to deal with it until winter time, but by then i hope to have my retrofit done with my old headlights complete. Thanks for everyone's input thus far |
