Suspension or Engine

I was wondering would you guys do first bulid up your suspension or tune up your engine. Myself Have tein super street coilovers with pollow ball joins H&R sway bars I looking for some nice strut bars any body have any answers.

front strut bar would be a cheap and easy upgrade right there
it makes the cornering so much fun

Da1lyDr1ver 12-28-2006 01:15 AM

i'd go suspension first definately.

since our motors wont give you squat unless you either swap or turbo it, i think putting your money into the suspension will give you the best bang for the buck. but than again, it all comes down to what you're trying to achieve.

These cars can be made fast in corners for a less money than they can be made fast on the strait parts. It sounds like you have a decent start on the suspension, so you should probably finish that up before you move on to the engine. As far as what brands for strut bars, just do a little looking around this site. You'll find some recommendations, and probably some good deals on used parts too. It's not like strut bars wear out.

do suspension, our engines suck unless u have boatloads of money and can get aot of one off parts, or swap. not to mention suspension will last longer and make your everyday driving better

agrreeed

id go suspension man but then again hangin with faster cars in a corner is alot more fun than just going fast with em on the straights but honestly the best bang for the buck suspension upgrades ive found are
a front strut bar
and a rsx type s rear sway bar whcih can be had from 50-80 bucks from what ive seen (i got mine for 50)

drunkenmagnum 12-28-2006 08:25 AM

might as well stay with suspension

rjngo 12-28-2006 08:39 AM

$killer05coupe 12-28-2006 02:59 PM

burke420 12-28-2006 05:59 PM

suspension all the way!.. i did!... just a couple mmore of those to go till fished..then im almost at my turbo project..

GRIP_EM2 12-28-2006 10:38 PM

yep that what im talking about I go GMR in azuza ca all my buddies have sti and Rwd. My enigine might not be fast just basic stuff intake hearder cam straght pipe but Shit THERE IS ALWAYS A LIL BLACK COUPE IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THOSE BOOSTED CARS!!!

susuking 12-28-2006 11:20 PM

haahah ^^ i would love to see that ..

lxcivic2k1 12-28-2006 11:46 PM

Yea, you will benefit from suspension most. Go that route first, then if you still have the car and get the money, then boost or swap, everything else is basically pointless performance wise.

GRIP_EM2 12-29-2006 12:08 AM

I going to have to say I hope no one gets offended by this but i would never boost my d17 it point less in the cayons the turbo does not have enough time to spool up but a swap on the other hand and go NA all the way. you should see when everybody see my car run up the mountain they can belive it's a EM2 SHO YOU RIGHT

EXsmellsbetter 01-01-2007 01:40 PM

Do your engine first! After you're done you'll be like "I just spent how much cash and got how much horsepower?!?!? What the hell?!" Haha, just messing. Suspension all the way.

Wow go back and do your turbo research, a T25 would do you wonders in canyons and auto-x you'd start spooling at like 2200 and have full bost at like 3000 (my RPMs are probably off by a little but you get the point)

skipbarber 01-01-2007 05:47 PM

boosting in and out of turns is more fun than boosting in a stright any day of the week.

Boggie1688 01-01-2007 08:42 PM

Im sry but EM2 I don't think you know much about canyon racing or about cars.

First rule of touge, don't post the name of the road so the cops don't find it. Please edit your post, I don't care if its a well known road or not...any publicity for touge is bad publicity.

As for keeping up with yours friends STIs, they just probably don't know how to drive their cars. Cuz a real driver behind either one of these cars stock vs ur mods the STI will blow yours EM2 away no questions asked.

As for turbo...if you run that road you should probably always be in your boost zone. I never drop below 3500rpms in the touge. I don't know what gear you are using but try a lower one.
