My 300HP stock block scion tC...Pics, Dynos, Videos! -7th gen pix added

I figured I'd throw this to you guys so you know Dezod does other cars too! In case you're looking for a new FWD car the tC is a great turbo platform. I work for Dezod now and we're had this car all over the country, including being in Modifed Magazine as a featured article in Oct '06.

The car still has a stock motor. It's a Dezod TEA turbo kit (Stage 5 T3/T04B) with RC injectors, bar and plate FMIC, Dezod Exhaust, and Greddy/Dezod EMS system. At 10.8psi I made 296whp and 302 WTQ on pump gas, and on a load based dyno (not those crappy dyno jets lol). The car's best time was a 13.3@108mph. This was with 4 12" MA Audio Subwoofers, 4 Alpine amps, wheels, a full body kit and spoiler, and dyna mat. We did't do any weight savings because this vehicle doubles as a show car. I'd say Street Drag radials and all that weight would kill my times but we're still happy with the low 13sec pull.

Attached of a few pics of the car. A few videos (some with me having the smaller stage 1 turbo kit), and of course dyno sheets. If you guys have questions let me know! The full build (race head, sleeved and built block, and stand-alone) is being done over the winter. Expect 450+WHP on this car in less than 6 months.

If you guys are curious about anything else let me know. Total investment has passed $20,000. Between the turbo setup, the paint, the interior/ICE, etc.

Thanks for looking!

damn nice vids, not feeling the spoiler but i guess its a show car so yea...much props man

MadWheel 12-02-2006 01:44 PM

Thank you. It's won about 11 trophies in the last year. I don't really go to too many shows due to work, most of those were from the first half of the year. Next year should be a whole different story though. We'll see how it goes.

djrabbi 12-02-2006 02:28 PM

damn shii is nice... not feeelin spoiler though.... but nice and clean...

MisterFrankieJ 12-02-2006 02:41 PM

Welcome back. Car looks good and nice numbers too. Were you on slicks in the first video?

ronaldo9 12-02-2006 02:42 PM

Wow that car looks like so much fun. Congrats up the setup. Is this car being daily driven just curious?

MadWheel 12-02-2006 03:53 PM

Nope it's always been on BF Goodrich Drag Radials. Running about 16psi.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yes actually the cars been daily driven since purchased. I've been boosted for a year now and I keep upping the power without any problems at all.

puidokas 12-02-2006 03:54 PM

Nice vids, sounds nice too.

XSRCivic 12-02-2006 03:58 PM

All the old schoolers comin back for a visit. Nice car man I love the ammount of room you got to work with in that engine bay vs the civic. The power potentional is great too. Good luck with your high hp goal!

MisterFrankieJ 12-02-2006 04:03 PM

What was your 60'? If you don't mind me asking.

Thats awesome. I wanna see my sister get a SC or turbo for her tC but I doubt she ever will. I really like the tCs.

It was horrible lol. I AVG'd a 2.3 60' hit a 2.2 twice, and 2.4 twice. The subs and all the crap in the back really killed me. I broke an axle last year launching too hard so I ended up babying it ever since, launching at only 2k rpms.

I moved to AZ a few months ago and left my truck/DD back at home. That truck is supposed to arrive here in the first week of january. From that point, I'm getting a trailer to tow the car, so if I break something from launching too hard at least I have a ride home lol.

MadWheel 12-03-2006 12:13 PM

Thanks for all the best wishes btw. Yes the engine bay is HUGE. Very easy to work on, except for the fuel injectors. What a PIA.

AmbulanceMonkee 12-03-2006 12:19 PM

That's hot. I generally don't like showy cars, but this is definitely an exception. The wing would not have been my first choice, but it's not bad at all. Overall, very cool car.

dezod 12-03-2006 12:26 PM

Joe Joe....ya back!!!!1!!

kornsined 12-03-2006 02:27 PM

nice ride. TC's love boost. My ride actually sounds pretty similiar to yours as well.

MadWheel 12-03-2006 11:26 PM

Nice man haha...

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Funny seeing you here Paul lol... :)

More vids, and a LOT more power to come.

Mike04Civic 12-03-2006 11:39 PM

badass dude.
Just curious - maybe you know...but, how much HP can a tC get from the super-charger that Scion/Toyota has available for the tC? they make like 160 N/a, right?

kasimmmmm 12-04-2006 12:29 AM

f'ing insane tC, there's nothing i'd do differently except the fact that i have a thing for black cars, so i'd want it to be black. But still... its flawless. Its got the show and the go.. just the way i like.

dru106 12-04-2006 02:34 AM

Man so fast!! Imagine if u were to gut everything in the back?? WOW!! Since u got all those car show trophies I would just straight out gut that thing!!

abmerop18 12-04-2006 12:39 PM

not really diggin the spoiler and huge ass decal on the side, but w/e floats ur boat.

btw, get that manifold jet coated

MadWheel 12-04-2006 01:37 PM

Thanks everyone.

The spoiler works well with the kit, I think if some saw it in real life they'd like it more haha. I'm not a big fan of big spoilers as well but it follows the lines nicely.

As for gutting it and the manifold...

The car continures to become faster. I'll be adding some videos in the next couple of days once I finish the oil change. I took out all the subs and amps, but put the stock seats back in along with 2 12's, 2amps, and some mdf paneling. That stuff will also eventually come out but not until spring.

The manifold in there is being replaced by a better one. The new one will be jet coated.

-Oh... SC tC's on AVG are not that quick. Most people start with about 200whp which is pretty poor considering turbos make abotu 230whp at just over 5psi. The highest SC setup to date had beefed up internals and a RippModds Camshaft. It made 312whp or so at 12psi.

kasimmmmm 12-04-2006 01:42 PM

12 psi is still kinda low.. therefore 312whp at 12 psi is freakin' impressive.... seems like its easy to get 300whp out of a stock tc motor with turbo?

MadWheel 12-04-2006 08:23 PM

12psi is almost the max you can do on the S/C due to it's configuration. You just cant make the pulley any smaller. 14psi would be a pulley the same diameter as the shaft the turns the turbine lol.

For turbo, anyone with a boost controller, a good tune, and a good exhaust can pass 300whp on the stock block.

People daily drive boosted between 235whp and 275whp on a day to day basis without any issues.

drunkenmagnum 12-04-2006 09:20 PM

what are your r/t's? u seemed to be asleep on the tree on one of those runs.
yeah i remeber seeing your car in modified and writing a post about it the day it came in the mail!
