Taillights

I bought these taillights awhile back. I like 'em, they go with paint almost, just a shade lighter than car, but when I'm driving my says they look same color basically. But one of the reflectors came out of place and I got rear ended by 18wheeler. So, I'm getting rear bumper fixed.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...6/DSC00456.jpgSorry if big -_-

But I'm thinking about putting on the stock taillights and perhaps opening up those tails and painting them black to see how it turns out. Good idea? Just need some opinions. (Yeah I know, those tails are a little ricey  )

Also, trying to find a carbon fiber front lip, hard finding a good one and a site with it.

normally tail lights are molded together, unlike the headlights. you can tint the lights black. i normally hate those lights, but i like how they are almost the exact same color.

myinca 10-24-2006 12:04 PM

i think they look good as is

estebomb_ftw 10-24-2006 12:08 PM

Aww okay, didn't know that. Thought about tinting them, but I've seen some, and didn't like it that much.

Hmm maybe when I get my car back I'll put on one red taillight and see which one looks better.

ohsnapsjay08 10-24-2006 12:16 PM

imo i dont think they're ricey.. they actually look kinda cool. but oem still rocks. anywho, i think they look good as is also. very unique. keep it. just open it and but that reflector back in place lol.

The light output on those things suck! I got rear-ended in the middle of daylight because the moron driver behind me couldn't see it.

estebomb_ftw 10-24-2006 12:38 PM

Haha yeah I want to put it back in place, another reason I want to open it up.

Yeah they do Honda_Inspired. That's what happened to me with 18wheeler. They just don't know how to stop or look to see if your wheels are moving. -_-

sl33pyriceboi 10-24-2006 12:50 PM

leave em as is bro. anything else n it will be total rice

CSVT7 10-24-2006 04:33 PM

Yea thats a real clean look, IMO. It sucks that the light output is so bad though. Fix= if you see a semi flying down your arse, switch lanes ;-)

Shottamion 10-24-2006 05:44 PM

there right my vote is to keep it as in also. The paint and light look pretty clean together anything else :hithead:

rice4lyfe 10-24-2006 06:31 PM

i think this is the only altezza style taillight taht looks good IMO. hows ur headlights? gunmetal too?

ohsnapsjay08 10-24-2006 06:42 PM

and!! if you turn the picture upside down.. its like a shade of mickey mouse lol!

susuking 10-24-2006 07:00 PM

^^ wtf! it doesn't~ haha
anyway, use OEM, its dangerous to drive with a brake light thats dim. unless u use a brighter bulb.

AmbulanceMonkee 10-24-2006 07:04 PM

Here's a stupid question. If you think the lack of visibility of these lights was the reason you almost got a semi stuck up your a$$, why would you keep them?? I'd go back to the stock lights. My reasoning for this is purely safety, tho. Independent of that, I don't mind the look of those lights at all.

Suzy Q 10-24-2006 07:15 PM

get OEM

estebomb_ftw 10-24-2006 08:22 PM

My headlights are stock right now, but plan on blacking them out soon and maybe getting a CF front lip.

I think I will get a brighter bulb and test it out.

Thanks for input and suggestions guys. A lot more help than other forums I've been too.

Str8UpCivic 10-24-2006 08:32 PM
