need your help agian 7thgeners.. steering wheel problem!

welps iam super happy when i got my S2000 steering wheel and so excited to install it, but of course i have to uninstall my OEM. well here's the big problem. i used the T30 screw driver (to take off the airbag ) and tried to unscrew it but the T30 screw driver got messed up (i think the T30 screw driver is a cheapo one) and its stripped. the screw is alil stripped but i'll buy a brand set tomorrow morning.

so i was alittle worried and was wondering how is it really to unscrew these screw. but iam pretty sure its counter clockwise, or am i wrong?

please help 7thgeners!!

Jason

it's counter clock-wise...just make sure you be care getting that off... i had a retard friend give a false BOOM! when i was trying to remove my screws and almost sh*t a brick! but just dont rush something you use EVERYDAY! i was using a Torx head extension on a socket socket set from Sears. i got a MOMO Tuner on my car now!

ohsnapsjay08 10-11-2006 12:11 AM

ic.. well someone even told me to use power drill but the hole is to small to fit the head of the power drill. i mean is it really that tightened? i have the extension too but i bought it on pepboys.. sheez thread is messed up. i guess thats what you get for getting a cheap ass one. imma buy something durable or a good brand tomorrow. thanks for the help btw.

jamesandrew58 10-11-2006 12:23 AM

its not super tight. i have a momo tuner on my car as well. be sure when u unscrew the bit isnt crooked. make sure its flushed

ohsnapsjay08 10-11-2006 12:27 AM

ok. ic thanks. i did some lil research and there this one device called impact driver. i hope it works when i get tomorrow.

DUDEitsMATTx 10-11-2006 12:37 AM

so what mods need 2 be done for the sk2 wheel 2 fit ours?? i would like to get one.. and how hard is the install? and does the stock air bag still work? thxx

ohsnapsjay08 10-11-2006 12:40 AM

welps. we're gonna know tomorrow. iam pretty confident it will fit but the only thing is the airbag. imma take my chance splicing it for you guys tomorrow so you guys better give me props whether it works or not lolz. next thing i know there's a big bag blown and white dust on my car. wish me luck! as for the cruise control, simply use the oem one, alil mod will fit.

DUDEitsMATTx 10-11-2006 12:42 AM

hah well that would suck. thats why i dont wanna do it. or say i do it right but then i wreck and it dont go off :( is it smaller then our stock one? u should do a DIY on the fourm

ohsnapsjay08 10-11-2006 01:00 AM

yep its smaller in diameter. they say the handle(ring) is bigger but its not noticable. yep, i will.

civic05acer 10-11-2006 01:49 AM

yea post pix after. and for the tightness it really isnt that hard. muscle power is enough. and make sure you disconnect you are bag and battery and wait 30 min. i heard they store some energy but just watch out.

dirtySAMURAI 10-11-2006 01:56 AM

yeah the airbags have capacitors i believe, so those store some charge even after being disconnected from the battery. sometimes disconnecting the power wires from the airbag will set it off, but i have never heard of this happening with our cars.

Its always to play is safe and wait after disconnecting the battery, but I Have a '01 and its easier supposedly for us. I neither waited or needed a puller. Installation was a snap and cruise also hooked up.

ohsnapsjay08 10-11-2006 03:27 PM

ey doctor.. what about the airbag?

burke420 10-11-2006 05:40 PM

i disconnected the Neg. terminal from the battery, then removed the SRS fuse. waited at least and hour and preceeded to work on my steering wheel

ohsnapsjay08 10-11-2006 06:24 PM

iam asking about the airbag.. btw, i got the s2k installed.. damnz i have to damage my OEM one cause i messed up the tread oh wells. i will post pics as soon as i got my airbag working.. right now is installed but airbag is not connected lol.
