Thank you sir. I am EXTREMELY happy with how they turned out. I'd recommend anyone into modding do at least a light coat.

BCCentaur3 10-01-2006 05:10 PM

I was thinking about doing the same, how long does it take? And can you make it darker if you wanted?

gearbox 10-01-2006 05:10 PM

ohsnapsjay08 10-01-2006 05:12 PM

I took my time with this project, because I have never done any type of painting or spray painting before. I started at about 11 am and finished about 4 pm.

Cost wise, I spent money on the following:

Nite Shade: $22 (Hazardous material shipping ran me $10 :( )
Masks: $5
Dupicolor Truck/SUV Clear Top Coat: $5 - $10 ( I can't remember)

Mom gave me the tape and the plastic tarp, so I didn't have to buy that, so I guess you could say those would run about what.. $6 - $10?

If I wanted to, I am sure, but I would have to remove the layers of clearcoat on there first probably. Then do it a little darker, then reapply the clear coat. Maybe someone more experienced could comment on how to do that.

Also, they aren't pitch dark in person (As they appear on the pictures), the sun was out in full force and my photo skills are the lose... They are tinted and you can definitely tell that.

RHCP0801 10-01-2006 05:16 PM

is that illegal?

Probably, but so is my tint.

If I get a ticket for it I will replace them, no big deal.

genexrocket 10-01-2006 05:26 PM

oo, that actually looks good, i usually don't like tinted lights cause people usually do em way too dark

Thank you :)

I went 3.2-3.5 coats tops. I say .2-.5 because I had to adjust the shade on the lights. One was darker than the other at certain areas.

John04Civic 10-01-2006 05:32 PM

Hey guys, here is a better picture.
