Engine bay shampoo + car wash

Nothing special here. Just wanted to post some pics of my engine bay after cleaning it. As I cleaned my engine bay, I figured why not wash the car as well. :)

Very nice. How did you get into the nooks and crannies of the engine bay?

I used simple green degreaser.

Just sprayed simple green in there, and sprayed it with an ordinary garden hose. I used a tooth brush to get off hard to remove spots. Before the water dried, I used a paper towel and wiped down anywhere that was wet, and a few spots were still dirty, but not many. 99% of the engine bay was cleaned by spraying simple green, and using the garden hose.

nice.. I'll do that to my car next week...

blouisgod 06-08-2006 08:25 AM

wow that is really clean. good work.

diskreet 06-08-2006 08:46 AM

You should cover the air filter, and disconnect the ground of the battery, before doing this RHCP0801. Just dont spray too much into the alt and its ok.

Ledbelly 06-08-2006 09:03 AM

That came out really nice.

Did you scrub inside your wheel wells too?? Alot of ppl never hit that area.

fatal Error 06-08-2006 10:07 AM

I use simple green and then use meguires hot shot tire wet to shine up all the hoses it shine last forever and then all you have to do is hose it down every week or so to get the dirt off. I also leave the hood open for a few hours after i clean it to let the sun bake the tire wet in.. it's alittle trick i learned from when i worked for mercedes detailing...I love making cars pretty
