Home made short throw?
 
Hey guys has anyone made their own, short throw shifter, for there
7thgen before? kinda curious.

man just but a ss, don't try to cut out some of the shifter and wled it back it might cause binding

hey yah i would never cut my shifter or whatever i was just curious to see what people have done to theirs? i look to see custom fab work.

Not hard at all and you can use a small piece of pipe and JB weld. cut the shifter so there is about 3/4 of an inch still attached above the linkage. Grind/cut the othe side to desired size. Cram a piece of 1.5'' long 3/4'' pipe with JB weld and and put it on the bottom part then slide the top part in to the pipe. It sounds chinsy but I would trust it more than my welding. I have had it for 2 years and it is still solid.

you got any pics of this? did it give shorter throw at all? im not sure i understand what exactly you did, did you just make the shifter fatter on the bottom?

I've had friends that have just cut their shifters really really short and they were happy w/ them
