RHCP0801 05-08-2006 03:17 PM

ah shit i typed that in all caps, oh well but i gotta get some better tools after seeing and hearing about tools breaking, the only socket set i have is from my grandfather lol its been working good so far but we'll see

CenZ 05-08-2006 04:37 PM

UPDATE:Broken bolt!

so i brought it to the shop, apparently the bolt froze in the strut, i bought used strut from a junk yard for 50 bucks. got to pick up the strut tomorrow then put the thing together and then bring the car back to them so that they cut the bolt out without ****in up the frame, then my car will be done.

01HonderCivic 05-08-2006 04:46 PM

Let this be a lesson that antiseize is your friend. When I went out to get those pics I noticed that my camber kit on the rear is starting to get some rust, So I'm going to take it off, clean it up, and put some on that...

MajinB 05-08-2006 05:32 PM

wow. 25 for one? so i guess 100 for all 4? i got a qoute for 200 and i said "fvck that, ill do it myself!" and i did haha. good luck again!

RHCP0801 05-08-2006 07:04 PM

oh fvck that sucks, dont you need your car tomorrow for that interview?? i so hope we wont have to go through this with my car. Good luck tho

MajinB 05-08-2006 07:20 PM

damn if i was there i would totally be helping right now. no joke. breaking 2 ratchets...how big was size of each? o well, you can get new ones for free if they are brand name. most brand name tools are life-time guarenteed.

RHCP0801 05-08-2006 07:36 PM

01hondercivic broke two ratchets, cenz just messed up two 17mm or 14mm sockets

MajinB 05-08-2006 07:38 PM

those should be replaced no question for free too then if they are name brand.

CenZ 05-08-2006 07:57 PM

nah cheap 20 buck tool set. he is charging me 25 buck just to put the strut in, i got to compress the spring inside the strut, otherwise he is charging me 50-75

CiViCPrAnInG2k1 05-08-2006 08:01 PM

the Dingo aint yo baby!!!

MajinB 05-08-2006 08:02 PM

UMMM...did you try to compress the spring first? cause i did it and it helped...i know its weird fit with the thing on the car still but hey, whatever works right?

RHCP0801 05-08-2006 08:21 PM

na we didnt try that but the bolt is off now so i guess all these will help if the same thing happens to my car

CenZ 05-10-2006 09:55 AM

so finally today i got finish my car, i must say it looks insanly nice, ride is a bit rough, but it looks good as hell. if it not raining in like an hour or so ill take some pics.

RHCP0801 05-10-2006 09:59 AM

how rough is the ride?? did it go good at the shop?

CenZ 05-10-2006 10:02 AM

its pretty stiff. i hope when i get the HPs it will soften it up a bit, the shop i felt bad cause the damn thing caused so many problems my car was on the lift for over an hour with this one strut. and it wasnt like he was compressing it or anything, i did all that he was just swappin out the old strut/spring for the new one.

RHCP0801 05-10-2006 10:17 AM

yea i hope the neuspeeds and HPs will be a good ride because i dont feel like having a rough ride either. Im gonna order them tonight, maybe if its nice out next weekend we can try and do it than if they come in time, im gonna get some anti seize stuff just in case lol

CenZ 05-10-2006 10:19 AM

lol yeah, ill bring my pb blaster also. you need to get a 17mm socket cause i ****ed both of mine up.

RHCP0801 05-10-2006 10:34 AM

yea i got one i think, the only socket set i have is that really old one in that aluminum case like that one you got lol i hope that is good enough

IF YOU LIVE IN A SALTY AREA (LONG ISLAND) GO GET THEM DONE. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!

all of this could have been solved if you drove to MA in the first place. ;)

ABSOLUTELY! 5+ Hours?!!!!!!! :_doh:

coulda done about 4 suspension jobs

CenZ 05-10-2006 03:00 PM

no the last bolt you wouldnt have been able to do anything about. ill take a picture of it, it is seized/frozen in the strut, if i drop to mass i would have been stuck there when you broke the bolt. lol

AzNmiKex215 05-10-2006 03:03 PM

i never have a problem with that bolt. and i only use a 3/8'' ratchet thats only 6 inches long.

And are you triple sure that you are trying to losen the correct side?

RHCP0801 05-10-2006 03:05 PM

yes we are 10 billion times sure we did the right side

CenZ 05-10-2006 03:06 PM

yeah, the problem was it seized in the strut, its all done now, i brought it to a shop they cut the bolt off and installed a new strut. i got the strut outside, ill take pics.
