Freakin americas tire co.....rant / question...broken lug cuz of them

the freakin idiots at americas tire co. fukin crossthreaded one of my lug nuts and now the lug broke off....i see the idiots using a god damn impact wrench to put the damn things on before they use the torque wrench (thats why the first push the torque wrench cracks saying its torqued)...anyways dont go to discount tires or americas tire co....cuz they suck...they're inexperienced, dim witted idiots who dont know to screw on a freakin lugnut with ur hand than torque it...the impact wrench is only for taking them OFF...jesus

i know that rolling on 3 lugs wont do anything as long as i dont race or do any hard driving...i had my car lowered but i changed my suspension back to stock because they would pull some bs like "your modified suspension and strut tower brace could have caused it"...so im back to stock right now...

im just gonna go to them and tell them i went out to my car and the lug nut was gone than i noticed the lug was broken...and they were the last people i took it to, to have my tires done...any other suggestions?

When I worked at Wal-Mart Tire & Lube as a tech, I would NEVER in my wildest dreams put on a lugnut with an impact wrench. What I would do was start it with my fingers, then use the torque stick to thread it on as tight as possible with my hand, so I knew the wheel was centered on the lug nuts. I never had a car come back with cross threaded studs, broken studs, or a wheel falling off

My brother had the same problem at discount tire, they broke one of the lug nuts and said it was already cracked. Sadly my brother didnt go back and make them fix it..

There are times when that does happen. A woman who worked in the Deli department of the store I worked at brought her less then 5k mile Impala in, did 4 tires on it, and I was watching the tech torque it down with the proper torque stick, and it ripped the stud right off. That's what you call a factory defect...Then again I guess it just wouldn't be a chevy without one, now would it?

yea but mines not a crappy american car...i have the lug and nut and the lug is ceased inside of the nut broken off the car...im just gonna tell them that its missing

No doubt about it, go back and tell them to fix it. Stick it to 'em. Make up a story about how you went to a mechanic and your car is unsafe to drive without all 4 lug nuts on there. At wal-mart we wouldn't even touch a car with even ONE missing stud or a missing lugnut for that matter.

i always use an impact to put mines on. as long as you start it with your hand you are fine. i screw it maybe 3 times, then hit it with the impact, then drop it down on the ground and check it with a break bar. they just put it too tight like idiotts

my sister brought her rav4 to a Sears Auto Center for new tires and they crossthreaded one of the lugs and broke it off. She called me and when I got there they wouldnt repair it for free and told her to bring it to Toyota...

i hate mainstream stores, they hire kids that dont know anything but think they're the shit. my local bank has kids working for them too. I packed my account outta there asap. Its not that I hate kids, i know i know I was one too. But I just dont feel comfortable leaving things that I worked hard for and earned, to the hands of kids that barely know the value of a dollar yet.

dp_yz713 04-19-2006 05:22 PM

but how will they ever learn the value of a dollar if they are not allowed to work for one?? ppl always say that but i dont get it. like what else are they supposed to do? lol

ragingSPAM 04-19-2006 06:26 PM

well i just took it in and they recommended me to a shop i've been to b4 and told me to tell the guy to bill americas tire...oh well at least it got taken care of...just tomorrow i gotta go back and get a new stud than get me a set of wheel locks

dp_yz713 04-19-2006 08:08 PM
