Updated Info on my 2005 Civic VP.

Hi everybody, :)

I added 2002 Civic Si rear disc brakes about two months ago and white face guages.

I'm currently working on a HID retrofit with TSX projectors. Here's a link to the thread containing pics of this project. http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=256214

My 2005 RSX-S incomplete swap came in last week. I ordered the motor through the shop that's going to do the installation. The auto wreckers sent them an 2005 engine, ECU with a 2003 tranny. They didn't even include a subframe and axles. Some misc stuff was also missing. I'm a easy going person but this is not cool. Man I paid a premium price for 2005 parts to make it a legal swap here in Cali and these auto wreckers are sending me mismatch piece together stuff. The shop is working with the auto wreckers to resolve this issue and I'm not going to let them off that easy.

My swap is scheduled for the first week of May 2006. I may purchase a RSX-S Greddy Turbo Kit since it's carb legal and have it installed at the same time. This should save some labor and save me from an extra trip to the ref.

These items just came in today for the K-20: :hgrin:

Quaife LSD
ACT Lighten Flywheel
ACT 6 Pad Clutch w/ spring
ACT Pressure Plate.

DDragon7 04-11-2006 09:38 AM

Wow, a 2005 swap.

R1Style 04-11-2006 10:09 AM

Car looks awesome man.
Have fun with the swap though... the Drive-By-Wire throttle system the K20Z motor's is going to be a PITA to work with.

ragingSPAM 04-11-2006 11:30 AM

god damn...its gonna be really nice...touge whore has an a2 swap and his car is quick...his type R LSD helps a shit load in the canyons too

also what neighborhood is that...it looks extremely famillar

K/Turbo 04-11-2006 06:26 PM

Oh snap! I didn't know the k20z1 was a (drive by wire). Thanks for the heads up.

That neighborhood is located in Elk Grove, CA just south of Sacramento. Those homes were built by Standard Pacific. There new to Nor Cal but I herd they build alot of homes in So Cal.

I work for Intel in Santa Clara. Been there for about six years now making about 60k a year. When I landed this job my pay had doubled from 25k to 50k a year. The first year I kept my spending the same and started paying off credit cards and high intrust small loans. Then had bought an 2003 WRX. The car was a blast but I notice I was not paying down the credit cards as fast as I was before. So I sold it and continue to drive my paid off red 1992 Ford Escort aka the Red Lobster. By selling my WRX it allowed me to upgrade to a larger home in Stockton CA and I sold the home in Galt, CA. The housing market was aready getting hot. Then as soon as I bought the home in Stockon the housing market started to go up like stupid fast. The home increased from $341,000 to $530,000 within two years.

I drove the my car until it died. Then I had to scramble to get another car. I originally wanted to by an Civic LX but did not qualify at the time because I had just moved in the Stockton home and had to settle for a Civic VP. Now I'm renting the home in Stockton to some college students and used the equity to buy two more homes. One in Rancho Cordova, CA and the other in Elk Grove, CA. Both homes have 6 bed rooms and I can get around $400-$500 per month for rent for each room. I usually keep the master bed room. If I can rent the remainder of the 5 bedrooms the house almost pays for itself.

No more aggressive home buying for me because the market seems to be getting soft now. Once most of the rooms are rented out I'm going to invest in stocks and save for a down payment for homes that are selling below market value. This is what I do for a living.

Thanks guys for your support. I'm still having fun with this project.

Wazzup Ramcosca!

I studied Electrical Engineering at ITT Technical Institute in Sacramento CA. It was a two year program.

How is it on the Island?

There ok. They ride nice on smooth roads. As the bumps get biggers the ride quality goes down quite a bit... but then again I have the front spring purches adjusted all the way down and the rears almost all the way down.

If I raised it up about an inch the ride should improve because it feels like I'm riding on bumpstops. Honestly I wish they had a little more suspention travel when lowered at the max 3 inch range.

I don't drive the this car daily anymore and I pretty much know where all the bumps are around in my town so thats why I have not raised it back up yet.

As far as corning its much better than stock, but since I don't have sway bars It feels like I'm riding on three wheels when trying to push the car to its limits.

Wha! EE also! Very nice! I'm studying EE in CAAM, Colegio, UPRM, RUM, Alcohol Central, whatever. University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez! My program is a 5 year... although I'm already making it a 7 minimum!

How were studies there?

The island? Well, all f-ed up, as always. Governor is trying to do what he's supposed to but the people from the Camera (I donno how to say it correctly in English) are just acting stupid... therefore the government is incredibly sucky and the country almost in ruins! :D Justice Department is trying to get up the FBI's ass for the assasination of Filiberto Ojeda Ríos last september 23rd, and now cuz of the assault of people from the PIP who had documents regarding a certain no-se-qué... tey took some computers and such and assaulted the people (including the press!). I wanna leave this island, it's all covered in shit and everyday it keeps on raining more and more of the same old SHIT!!!

*rant mode off*

Wah... had to blow off, sorry! lol

How much time has passed since you last came here?

K/Turbo 05-02-2006 01:01 AM

Studies at ITT was cool...Those two years went quick.

It has been since 1996 since I've been to the Island. I may stop by Guayanilla to visit some family this summer. Hope things get better on the Island for you. When you complete your studies are you going to relocate?
