Low Pros

sooo i wanna get low pros but i wanna sell my OEM wheels...... soo are low pros good in the winter... i live in NJ soo i was wondering like in the snow and conditions like that or am i better of keepin my OEM's?????

bOoStEd042dr 04-09-2006 04:26 PM

it's probably a good idea to keep the factory wheels and throw on some winter tires....and keep the lopros for the nicer months

when i had my prelude i was able to get around quite well in the snow on low pros. but i live in north carolina.

stop calling them low pros, you sound like either someone straight out of the fast and furious movie or someone straight out of a crappy rap song.

AllEyezOnMe 04-09-2006 05:10 PM

Ya, in the winter just change them back to ur stock wheels (keep them)..takes 15 mins...I live in Canada and ive driven in the snow with my 19's..which was not to bad, but to be safe juss switch them for winter.

Ya my wheels are 215/45/17 and I can't even drive in the snow with them. I would get stuck everytime I stopped. I couldn't even get through an intersection before the light turned red. It was horrible. I bought my car from the dealer with aftermarket wheels and after I had to drive it in the winter I went back and made the service manager give me a set of oem wheels. Plus you don't want aftermarket wheels getting torn up in the winter like mine either. I had to refinish mine by hand and it took forever.

i have 205/40/16 Toyo Proxes and I did fine this winter - kind of

01HonderCivic 04-10-2006 12:12 PM

Wow, 205/40R16? Damn, now THAT'S a low profile tire for this car....

djrabbi 04-10-2006 08:34 PM

im thinkin of gettin all performace all season tires......

tony_buttons 04-10-2006 08:55 PM

I have 215/40/18. I haven't taken them off in two years. You will slide in the snow on your aftermarket or stock tires since neither is snow rated. And if you're not getting rims, dont get smaller tires on stock wheels, that just looks f'in stupid.
