project poor man heh trying to do this for under 1500 bucks but ill prolly spend alot more lol oh yeah her name is claire lol

oh yeah for looks wise. she is being treated to a fresh coat of flat black b4 it hits the roads. some rota slips for my street tires and some dark tint. maybe some jdm goodies if i can get my hands on some

ohioex 04-04-2006 01:54 AM

sp3cialk 04-04-2006 02:12 AM

damn. looks fun.

CustomXSpunjah 04-04-2006 02:35 AM

haha red hood, what a piece
should be fast if you do what you plan on doing

pinoyjdmr 04-04-2006 03:01 AM

So what your plans for the EF9? dude if you thinking full power get a B20 motor with a H22 tranny dude tunned that shit right you will burnen rubber 1,2,3 possible 4th gear but don't get carryed away.lol

CustomXSpunjah 04-04-2006 03:46 AM

B20 is a hard swap for a EF, your much better off with the ls/vtec or B18. Fast as hell all motor

joshb_ 04-04-2006 07:29 AM

I had one of those with a d16z6 with wiseco 20 over pistons, eagle rods, comp stage 2 cam....and t3 60/48. It was alot of fun building up the motor and putting it all together....someone offered me 2000 for all of it before i got to drive it so i took and now im turboing the 04 in stead.

Yeah it's hard to put together but it takes a real tunner to put this thing together lol.

tuner04civic 04-09-2006 06:50 PM

strip it, give it a nice paint job(dont go too wild, keep it clean), and put the ls in it. and like u said do the suspension.

teg91ls 04-09-2006 06:53 PM

stock b18's are vicious, modded ones are very fast. especially in a light completely gutted car

zachgeyer 04-09-2006 09:49 PM

dam you got some work ahead of you good luck

03hce 04-09-2006 09:55 PM

haha... Good Luck with Claire Mugen!!!

tricky 04-09-2006 10:17 PM

nice, i'm in the same boat as you, for the amount people spend on a stock k20 swap or turbo, you can get a pretty nice EF outta the deal with a built engine and suspension...i got an EF also (crx though) I would try and turn into this:

MajinB 04-09-2006 10:30 PM

ive told you how i felt about this on AIM. good luck

mugenman 04-09-2006 10:59 PM

damn thats sexy

mugenman 04-09-2006 11:07 PM

yeah im looking at some eagle h beam rods right now. thinking bout going with those. but idk i might just go with newer ls rods and buy the eagles later on when i go boost (and yes i know i cant use the type r pistons with boost)

Cptn. Slow 04-09-2006 11:07 PM

that thing is pimp, I'd rock it w/ the primer job. Good luck w/ the build that looks like a lot of fun. I'd do that if I had space

mugenman 04-09-2006 11:08 PM

the only plans paint wise is a fresh coat of flat black....maybe eventually id paint it magnesium metallic or nighthawk black pearl (what can i say nhbp is such a sexy color)

Cptn. Slow 04-09-2006 11:20 PM

what're the brakes on it? front disc, rear drum

mugenman 04-09-2006 11:21 PM

front disc........gonna be rear disc 2. just gotta go 2 the yard and pull everything i need off a DA teg. or just buy it already pulled.

MajinB 04-09-2006 11:33 PM

dude get the lighter titanium rods now, that way its WAY less of a pain to switch out later.

mugenman 04-09-2006 11:36 PM

well im looking into buying a buddies darton sleeved block...so if i dont bye the rods now and i buy em later....it would go into a new block heh he only wants what the sleeves are worth so im gettin a steal. i told him 2 hang onto it for me lol

redex04 04-10-2006 06:31 AM

good buy thats what i plan on doing to keep my 04 a good daily driver then build up an old ef hatch

HonCivX02 04-10-2006 06:50 AM

not bad for 300 bucks. good luck

ncirom2003 04-10-2006 06:59 AM

do type r bottom end, with civic type r cylinder head, it ups the compression compared to a stock itr and has a slightly better valvetrain. these are things ive heard mwhaaha
but ye its true. and good luck, i wanted to do this same project pretty much but i have no use for it. and you may want to look more into what your doing with it, building a car for autox and building a drag car is not the same.

redex04 04-10-2006 07:54 AM

my buddy had he an ef they gutted it and put a sohc vtec in it and it ran low 14s

not bad for under a grand they had in it

CTR head is not as good as a ITR head. i saw that documentary on type R cars from honda. it was talking about when you get a CTR and you rebuild the motor, there is a kit that will let you convert it into a ITR motor instead. so i figure ITR>CTR

isuzu5000 04-10-2006 09:44 AM

to make it run great and look good your budget is gonna hafta be more than 1500---i'd say go w/ the ls/vtec swap. do a minor build. work on the paint and interior and get some nice rims. good luck with whatever you do man.

or just go for this look

mugenman 04-10-2006 10:37 AM

well its staying flat black.....im about 2 pick up some del sol wheels for 40 bucks. they just need tires so basicly all my money is going into the motor and suspension and i know im gonna spend more than 1500.....im just saying id like 2 spend under that lol
