Its the first piece to the charge pipe and yes it was made from my aem sri

turboengnr 04-01-2006 02:03 AM

looking pretty good.

If you use 2.25" piping, you can get it through the hold behind the headlight pretty easily. Just use a coupler right in that spot, and run the pipe up to the hole on both sides. Then simply run the coupler through the hole.

Thats how i did it on my old setup, and it lasted. When i took the kit off 1.5 years later, the coupler wasnt even marked.

I ended up cutting the hole bigger and using a big 45 degree 2.5" coupler to get threw...I wanted to stay with the 2.5" charge pipes.

Do you have a link from the website you ordered from?

turboengnr 04-02-2006 03:42 AM

why are you going with 2.5" piping? Are you planning on a built motor?

or are you doing it just for looks?

I love the look of 2.5" piping. So either way, good job!

I had 2 front mount intakes i found locally for 10 bucks each so it was a hole bunch of cheap mandrel bent pipes....i know its a bit large...Should i be doing something alot smaller? I could do like crush bend pipes but Thats kind of boot leg.

and the funny thing is my first pipe in the pictures is a 2.75"...its so overkill but w/e it fit great.

turboengnr 04-03-2006 01:04 AM

dude, you did what i did.... sorta..

I went to the pomona auto swap meet (like 2 square miles of car parts!!!) and i bought 7 cold air intakes for $45. I made all my intercooler pipes out of that. All 2.5"

But no, dont worry about it. the 2.5" wont hurt you much. It will take a little longer to spool up, but i doubt you would even notice the difference.

lmao i bought 2 front mount intakes at 30 each...sold the couplers that came with them for 55 shipped because there were a mess of them, then got 2 more intakes for free from my buddies and I think ill have enough now.

joshb_ 04-05-2006 12:15 AM

so i got the slim line fan in today inplace of the stock ac fan and it came out pretty nice...ill get some pics up later

turboengnr 04-05-2006 12:24 AM

i wanted to do this to both my fans. I just never got around to doing it.

I ended up getting a 10" for like 45 shipped and its a 1450 cfm or something so it will be a little extra cooling when i need it...i can just turn on the ac and the fan will kick on. I mostly did it because I didnt liek how close the turbo was going to be and it was only 45 bucks.

turboengnr 04-05-2006 12:31 AM

thats exactly why i was going to do it. lol

Pedro Lopes 04-05-2006 05:46 AM

how do you wire the fans so they come on by themselves like the stock ones do.

XSRCivic 04-05-2006 07:19 AM

you wire them to the stock wire plugs so they work just like stock. They are smaller and flow more air, I've also replaced my fans with slimlines. Makes a world of difference when installing your turbo when dealing with space issues.

SODJAZERO 04-05-2006 02:07 PM

^^^ so tru, i installed som flexalight fans, they work great

did you get the log mani?

Pedro Lopes 04-05-2006 03:00 PM

Hey SODJAZERO do you know what the part # was for the flexalite fans.

Nice piping set-up, I'm curious how your running the pipes on the passenger side.
