i love my HID's too. only drawback is that i have no high beam now... i wish i had a high beam.

runner1738 03-22-2006 02:37 PM

are those in anzo projectors or stock?

ragingSPAM 03-22-2006 02:51 PM

stocks...the stocks i have seen over and over again have very little glare in the 04-05 headlights...spoonEM, DmikeX, FreedomEagle, and a few others have the same HID kit and they all have very little glare...ill get some wall shots up tonight when it gets dark

mrDFWmechanic 03-22-2006 03:11 PM

awsome pics

dirtySAMURAI 03-22-2006 03:12 PM

wallshots are needed to fairly judge the lights.

emdude4 03-22-2006 03:30 PM

that looks sick

gearbox 03-22-2006 03:34 PM

any wall shots or head-on shots from far away to see the glare?

ragingSPAM 03-22-2006 03:59 PM

ill get some tonight when it gets dark...i couldnt take more pix cuz my hands were freezing and i had to walls to take pix with without blocking the parking lot...soon...ill try to get them up tonight

Head on shots don't necessarily show much--need a wall shot to see how bad the hot spots are.

gearbox 03-22-2006 07:38 PM

well it shows how other drivers see you and if there's a big bubble of light.

ragingSPAM 03-22-2006 08:21 PM

i added some wall shots

gearbox 03-22-2006 08:24 PM

ragingSPAM 03-22-2006 08:37 PM

que?...when i stand from a distance i can see glare but its nothing much and not crazy like other housings...as u can see from a wall shot (it was taken at dusk ill take more when its pitch black outside) there arent very many hot spots and very little glare above the cutoff...ask DmikeX or spoonEM cuz they have the same kit...i have to say im very impressed with the cutoff of the halogen reflectors and it lights up the road so well...its amazing

7thGenerasianCivic 03-22-2006 08:42 PM

They look nice Mike, however, it's only a matter of time until you want to go on to better badder things like a complete retro. :D

gearbox 03-22-2006 08:44 PM

ha my comp was acting weird. I posted that a long time ago. But yea those pics look great. Thats a nice light setup you got there and very little glare. the 01-03 housing i've seen is alot worse. That cutoff is very surprising. It gets my seal of approval lol

can you take a ground shot?

civicvtec1ps 03-22-2006 08:47 PM

Yea, Trust me.

You will want to do retrofit down the road.
Just matter of time and money support.

I see too many hotspots...

Casper sheild do help a bit..I don't think they make one for 9006 application.

randy6duece 03-22-2006 08:49 PM

Oooo man very sick...good job

xkimsungminx 03-22-2006 08:49 PM

hey would say that getting 6000k is better or 8000k? i've been trying to decide but i'm having a hard time deciding

dre2600 03-22-2006 08:50 PM

Looks alright, but a bit glare-y. Projectors will help you get a nice clean 'z-line' cutoff.

gearbox 03-22-2006 08:50 PM

6k puts out more light

4000K (or a bit lower) would give you the best light output if you're not looking for that blue/purple look. Out of the 2 options you listed, 6000K gives more output, 8000K is getting pretty purple and you're going to start to see reduced light output. Theres quite a few sample images kicking around online from all sorts of HID companies, have a look.

LiKEaFeRiO 03-22-2006 10:10 PM

The beam pattern looks weird / uneven.

I say you should check and see if its aimed properly.

ragingSPAM 03-22-2006 10:21 PM

yea i'll do a retro some time down the road but im satisfied for now....but for the meanwhile this is good and glare isnt bad...the wall shot without my high beams on is like that because there was still sunlight out when i took that and the garage door to the shop isnt a very good surface...i dont blind anyone when im driving at night...if you see you will know

gearbox 03-22-2006 10:29 PM

did you aim them properly, or if not how did you do it? I still need to follow that huge diy for the correct distance cause i think mine are too low.

ragingSPAM 03-22-2006 10:40 PM

yea i aimed them...i just use a screwdriver to lower the beam and make them level...and low enough...i pointed mine really high when i had halogens but i know have them pointed lower

xkimsungminx 03-22-2006 11:02 PM

hm.. really?? my friend was telling me to get 8000k cuz he was saying that 6000k just looks like really bright normal headlights and not like HIDs? i dont really know i haven't seen 6000k or 8000k before in person, or if i did... i didnt know hahah.. so i should get 6000k?
