Sleek Wipers

Hey guys. Not sure if you care or not but a while ago I posted a comment or question on the wiper blades that Audi, BMW, and MB have had(others have well). They are the sleep looking wipers blades.

Well after so much time passing and not looking for them anymore I found them! I walked into a Discount Auto Parts tonight and saw them. I got a 21 and 20 inch. They had the 22inch but it was more expensive.

They look awesome! and wiper water off like nothing! I am so happy. I will post pics tomorrow.

If you guys are interested they are the Icon's by Bosch

Are those the ones that don't have the metal structure, they're just one flexible piece of rubber? If so, how much were they?

Yes Sir! They were 19.98 a piece. If you go 22inch and up they are 21.98 a piece! I think they are definitely worth it and for the drivers side you can for sure go up to 23 even 24 if you wanted to.

I got for the passenger a 20inch one and it fits perfectly! Before I had these I had 22inch for driver and 20inch for the passenger, and it worked perfectly fine. This time I didn't want to spend the money but regret it because it was only 2 bucks more! Either way they look awesome and like I said I will post pics.

civicfreak84 03-06-2006 10:13 PM

As a matter of fact this guy posted pics of the same exact ones I got!

Sounds like Bosch makes some really good wipers.
Gearbox reviewed a bunch of wipers and the brand that had the best review was indeed, Bosch.

I was talking to this one guy at work who had a brand new Toyota...Avalon, I think it was. He said the dealer was going to charge him 38 dollars per blade to replace them. Makes these look like a bargain

For sure.

Wiper blades for some years now have caught my attention. For me I need GOOD wiper blades and trust me they make a world of a difference. It's a nice mod to have.

The 8thgencivic has these types of wiper blades but they are not bosch (at least I don't think so) and they are really long and different and don't seem to perform the same way the bosch ones do. I went to see the 8th gen the other day and pulled a wiper blade and it didn't react like the bosch do. They have some sort of spring system in them that makes them conform to the windshield.

I had silicon wipers up until today and they had a lifetime warranty. Well something was happening to them that they were not working that well.

The Bosch Icon's that I purchased tonight wipe off any water that is present on the windshielf quickly and provides excellent visibility at all speeds. No water trace is left behind it and if any it is very minimal. I truly recommend this wiper blade to anyone that is considering to purchase a good quality, very dependable and sleep looking blade

Interesting. For the most part silicon based wiper blades have been the most dependable over factory rubber blades. The rubber eventually begins to crack and doesn't work as well.

The silicon that I bought and had for about a year and half worked well for about 6 months. Something happened where they were leaving a tremendous amount of trace from the water that they were wiping. I dont' know why, or how it happened but it started to hurt on my visibility of the road. Here in Miami when it starts raining sometimes it will pour for a while. So hopefully I will be able to let you guys know how these turn out but for now they are great.

i'm waiting for pics on the car. the trico copy of these had a huge hump in the middle that stuck out. blades worked like crap anyway so it didn't matter. the icon doesn't look so out of place as the trico.

swifty2k 03-06-2006 10:58 PM

I have the reflex wiper blades (Canadian Tire exclusive) I think they're just a rip of those bosch ones...
Single blade technology, anyways...Best wiper blade I've ever had. Everybody who is privileged enough to drive with me in the rain and snow comment on how amazing these things are!

And you'll continue to wait for them until I am able to get the pictures.

The Bosch Icons are awesome and I have not seen any other wiper blade come close. I have seen the imitations and ones that have copied the style but they seem more rugged and not user friendly when it comes to shaping itself to the windshield.

civicfreak84 03-09-2006 09:23 AM

Here you go Gearbox, hope you like them

One of the things that I noticed was that you can go way bigger on the driver side.

The driver side from factory is suppose to be 20inch while the passenger is suppose to be 19. Well like I said before the passenger is 20 and the driver is 21, nevertheless I wish I would've bought a bigger driver. I am actually considering it so anyone that would like to pick up the driver from me I would glady accept offers.

I think I will get the 22 or even 23 for the driver this time.

Heh, someone was getting ripped off. List price on the blades is $32.55 for the drivers side, and $16.43 for the passenger side.

cg95660 03-09-2006 10:19 AM

I have had these on for about 2 months now and they are great. Try a 75mph freeway run in a downpour they wipe water off the windshield so fast its crazy. The view from inside the car is the shat as well. The are really such a low profile its like the are tucked when not in use.

xHoteKx 03-09-2006 10:43 AM

hmm, i have the bosch micro edge something something blades right now and they're startin to crap out. i duno why, but i always get the same kind of wipers but the lifespan changes from anywhere of 2~3months to like 6months. i dont get it.

how long are these types of wipers supposed to last?

LowSky 03-09-2006 10:45 AM

i'm going to try these. i got the regular bosch's right now but they are craping out on me...

For those of you who are considering getting this please check them out, and make sure you pay attention to measurements. Like I said for the passenger side the standard measurement from factory is 19 inch get the 20 inch and don't go any bigger for the passenger. The 20 inch fits perfectly as you can see in my pictures.

As for the driver I got the 21 inch and I wish I would gotten the 22, 23 or even 24. The driver side can take such a bigger wiper. So don't makethe mistake I made.

I know that discount auto parts has these locally but not online (at least last I checked) They are definitely worth the money.

LowSky 03-09-2006 10:52 AM

Oh no! Well enjoy them. You should've gotten the 20inch for the passenger.

The ones you see that I posted are Bosch Icons. They are amazing

swifty2k 03-10-2006 01:26 PM

Yeah...the Reflex are the exact same blade...made by bosch, sold by Canadian Tire under the name Reflex...they're all over the TV here on commercials
