Look only alt. My car lost 100lbs in just 2 days! As many of you know i had to do a d17a2 swap. And many of you may ask... Why didnt you kswap. Trust me i wanted to but this is what happens when you havent saved enough yet. As i was putting another d17a2 back in i wanted to pull everything out of it i could. So i cut down on weight and drag Ripping out the ac and all components and also the ps and all its components. This idea came across becouse i was thinking of buying aem power pulleys. How can the alt pulley do anything when it still wraps around the ac. And then i hear some people with subs having there alt just die. Why spend money to spend more? Out they came and this is what im left with. Also have a carbon fiber hood added to further drop the weight. Trust me the piles of stuff i pulled out amount to alot of pounds. Do you like or object? http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d5...Picture010.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d5...d/newmotor.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d5...ersteering.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/SlowGold/alt.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/SlowGold/side.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d5...Gold/side1.jpg |

No power steering eh? I don't know if I could handle that. As far as the alt goes, I still have the a/c and ps in my car with a huge spl system and my voltage doesn't drop below 14.1v with an HO alternator. I really really like the hood though. Have you taken anything else out? |
hmmmmm...seems like u wouldn't of done this job unless u had no choice...i like... |
damn taking out p/s and ac free's a huge amount of room |

cant lose the a/c here in FL, but looks good. how bout a wire tuck? |
Very nice. Just a note - after I took out the PS and ran the breather hose to the front, it rubs on everything and started to fray. I ended up bending the bracket and putting the reservoir in the same hole with the clutch fluid reservoir. It hides it better and the hose can't rub on anything. Again, nice job! |
Thats cool. I would do it but I think I could go for a jog and shave 100lbs. |
I love my ac but u did a nice job bud |
Nice work, not too crazy about the hood. It still looks good and clean tho. |
Nice... 100 lbs... but I'd shave them off myself, rather than the car... like nick95673 said. Also, can't take the a/c here in Puerto Rico... you'd die! I love riding with the windows down, but when it rains you just NEED the a/c... and it rains a LOT! |
i dont think you should have done it. |
When I did my K-swap I did not put the A/C or P/S in, and I have to say no P/S is not bad at all. In fact when moving I like not having P/S more (it is more responsive) All thou I have a EP3 ESP rack that is going in soon (when I have more free time) so I will have P/S back only without those ugly hydro losses. All my k20 A/C stuff came in at 60+lbs alone weight reduction is the best |
