This should be in the ICE forum but this thread gets a lot more attention. Like the title says. Im looking into doing something interesting so i dont really wanna see a plain box in the trunk..but more fiberglass work and custom designs out of mdf wood or whatever... something more interesting! thanks
heres an example..

yeah its pretty sweeet... and drew22mader i knew i could count on you to post that crazy sweet set up of yours.. how much did that run ya, for the labour and wat not.. if u dont mind me askin?

drew22mader 02-22-2006 09:45 PM

Well the actual box ran me $1200, The Amps ran me like $400 for one and $375 for the other, EQ ran me like $250. Sub was $250 Tsunami wiring 2G Ground/Power Wire and RCA wire was included with the box.

I still have the Alpine IVA-D310 up front which ran me $1150 and $150 for install
Kicker SS65.2 6.5" Components ran me $550
Kicker SSMB6 Midbass $200
Kicker KS60 $140

The setup still isn't done, still need to fiberglass the trunk lid with RS components and maybe a screen in the middle, Add another amp, prolly hidden. And get my doors and kickpanels fiberglassed.

matt_s 02-22-2006 10:02 PM

matt_s: I think a carbon fiber hood would look nice with my car. I've got Volk Gt-7's 19" in Diamond Black about to be ordered, so it will all tie in.

EM2 Shinobi 02-22-2006 11:01 PM

drew22mader that fiberglass box is sick! :sweet:

lol nice trunk impor2nr

drew22mader 02-23-2006 08:13 AM

HondaGuy, i thought you were going all show? If your going show i wouldn't recommend the Q Logic boxes. There is nothing to them and its like an OEM stereo. I suggest you do something nice in the trunk.

matt_s 02-23-2006 10:15 PM

yeah fer show i would go with something more fancier fer sure... i like that trunk silvernight... ne1 else?!?!

Mr.honda 02-23-2006 10:40 PM

Not sure if anybody is still posting in here, but anyways - I just bought a nice civic and the guy who had it before me completely took out the trunk, there's nothing in there but some wood and the tire. What would be the best way to re-carpet the trunk, and throw 2 12" subs in smoothly. I've been reading a lot about fiberglassing but I'm not sure how my first time would turn out. Let me know with any ideas please!

Nameless 11-14-2006 01:46 AM

^ Well if theres nothing in there, you might aswell make a nice false floor and put the subs flat against the floor where the sparetire was that way you can make a pretty clean looking setup!

And heres my system, not the craziest setup in the world but me and my cousin made it at home in a day :)

That's a pretty nice setup. With my luck in the past, and long trips, I have to keep my spare in there. I want to have a nice custom setup and still maintain maximum trunk space. I was thinking about fiberglassing an enclosure on each side and angling a 12" sub facing inward, ensuring each side is the correct volume (though I've never made a fiberglass mold before, I've only read a lot). My other option is to put a box in the back of the trunk but I feel that would take up too much space. No matter what I do, I've still gotta figure out how to re-carpet everything back there so it doesn't look so trashy.

Ideas are welcome!
