ok i have the stripe off..but i still have that sticky shit underneath..how do i remove that?

juanotejano 02-21-2006 04:25 PM

I'm not sure if goo gone or the like is safe on car paint (probably not) but try something like that.

3M makes some great adhesive remover.I think you can get at walmart or almost any major auto parts store.I used it when I took the factory stripes of my Toyota pickup it worked great. Also I'm glad to hear your finally removing that stripe.

i know that rubbing alcohol and a little elbow greasse WILL get sticky crap off but not sure what it will do to the paint if anything, never used it on paint but awsome on galss hope it helps

buy one of those pinstriping removers from an auto store...it's like an eraser like material that goes in a drill and is the only way to do it....i think there are ones safe for clearcoat also....good luck

diskreet 02-21-2006 05:27 PM

damn i really like your car. every time i see it, i like it more

blouisgod 02-21-2006 06:17 PM

yeah those look sweet. i think youll just want to heat the strip up with a heat gun or at worst a hair dryer and pull it back. i hope the FL sun didnt fade the paint around it...

stroked_monkey 02-21-2006 07:47 PM

if ur having trouble taking it off use some medium temp. laquer thinner, itll take it off easy and wont harm the paint. make sure to polish the paint when ur done too :)

xkimsungminx 02-21-2006 11:13 PM

hey what kinda rims are those? and what size?? and same for 02civic_rida, what size are they and brand? thanks

4_door_fury 02-21-2006 11:14 PM

lol i used to work at a detailing shop and one of the main things we did was strip cop cars and security vans of their vinyls and stickers.. to get it off you'd use a heat gun and to remove the glue you use varsol (cudnt tell u wut kind but test an area on your car to check if its safe first) or a cutting cream . . that shud do it altho varsol is the most affective

those rims look insane! more pics!
