Well my original plan was to get a new Pontiac GTO (mmm power) but since its time to grow up and buy a house, went with a hybrid.
Long story short, friend works at a Honda dealership and got a hookup on a used '05 civic hybrid. Dark grey, spoiler, no 6 disc. Came with an aftermarket alarm also.

First mod already done, took off the front plate, thats +MPG right?:hgrin:

It may be my first import, but I am a modder to the end. I already have a Pioneer D1 on the way. My old 18" rims from my Grand Prix randomly have the same bolt pattern. (multi-pattern aftermarket) Monday I am taking it in to get tint all around. (so that D1 doesn't disappear)

Now before I get MPG flames, I bought the car to take advantage of the HOV lane and due to 100+ mile commute (while I am looking for a house)

No sense in having 400+ hp if you can't use it. Nevertheless, I actually like the car and Honda is growing on me.

Wanted to say hello and glad there is a wealth of information on the board. I will post up pics when I get rid of those whimpy 14" rims.

v8eaterokv6 01-29-2006 11:16 PM

welcome and i think you will be the first to have hybrid with 18s

dopes6070 01-29-2006 11:18 PM

It will scream for a drop with wheels that big. :giggle:

Hybrid Bob 02-14-2006 09:12 PM

Well I tried to post pics but I have to have a 15 post count first.

Hybrid Bob 02-14-2006 09:21 PM

Ok uploaded pictures to the gallery so check my ride to see them.

Stupid that I have to waste bandwith of the server to have pics. Would be easier to host them on my own server and link them.

I'm down with it. Looks real nice man, is it stick or auto. I rode in a stick, was not that bad and even had 4 people in it and 3 of them were some big people. Its very quiet, sometimes you can barely tell if its running or not. Cant wait to see it with the wheels on it.

Mutha Fn FBM 85 02-14-2006 09:32 PM

looks great dude!!

Hybrid Bob 02-14-2006 09:32 PM

Its a stick and is acceptably quick when needed. Sure don't miss the POS truck I was driving before it.

RHCP0801 02-14-2006 09:36 PM

i think it looks pretty good, but i think that antenna is in the worst spot possible

Hybrid Bob 02-14-2006 09:37 PM

Well I guess you have to take that one up with Honda. Its due to the crazy voltage and battery in the back. Would ruin the reception.

xbeebop 02-14-2006 09:57 PM

looks good, got anything else planned for it?

genexrocket 02-14-2006 10:10 PM

good choice, don't rice it out hehe.

Nothing drastic, pretty happy with the body and wheel height etc. Definatly no rice:rofl:

Maybe just add some dynamat to the doors so it doesnt rattle. Already set with the Hybrid mirrors and spoiler!

Mutha Fn FBM 85 02-14-2006 10:58 PM

so is it possible to run subs and junk in a hybrid?

DDragon7 02-15-2006 04:17 PM

Looks nice, are you gonna drop it?

u should be able to as long as its a 12v system. If you did tho i would imagine you would need a noise filter cause of all the extra EMI.

diskreet 02-15-2006 05:22 PM

Woah I gotta clean up the scene, cause you just busted onto it. damnit.

dopes6070 02-15-2006 06:11 PM

CenZ 02-15-2006 06:25 PM

Looks good! I like mine too :sweet:

Hybrid Bob 03-03-2006 07:24 PM

Well I think I got ahead of myself going for 18" rims on a hybrid. (cut me some slack this is my first Honda)

I put them up for sale in the mall, PM or email me if interested.

DDragon7 03-03-2006 09:36 PM

Kills the purpose of the hybrid?

Hybrid Bob 03-03-2006 09:41 PM

Well I am supposed to be saving money at the pump, but the 18" rims make me spend $2 more a fillup. I am going to need all the savings I can get to make up for the extra cost of the hybrid over the regular civic;)

Most vBulletin forums are like that...

Welcome to the forums! Hope you find lots of useful information and before someone else says it, there's always a search button :giggle:.

(I know you asked nothing, but I wanted to pop the answer before you asked to not get you flamed by others later on!)

I hope you enjoy your time on this site as much as we do! :hgrin:
