04-05 civics with 99-00 type r lip...help...

for those that have put this lip on your 04-05's can you please do me a huge favour and measure how much lower the lip sicks down from the bumper...

Im thinking of swamping out my front end for the 04-05 front end and I would put down this lip, but I wanna know if it will sit parallel with my side skirts, because I think it would look wack if this lip was higher than my side skirts...

Check my signature, there's a thread of it containing pics of my vic with it. Let me see it, give me a sec.

Probably the simplest way to get an answer for this would be to take yourself to a dealership. Most that I know have used cars and are probably a couple of each years in stock. A suggestion without merit I suppose...

yeah you're right ^^^ Im probably gonna do that...

if you guys could do either an Acura EL front end swamp or a 04-05 civic front end with type r lip....what would you do...

Im stuck

Karumba 01-16-2006 06:25 PM

Honestly, the question would moreso be WHY in my head. Though of those two choices, probably an EL as there would actually be a visible difference - and some points in shows. Other than that, why swap a 04-05 front-end on your 01-03? Why not just go upgrade your car overall to that model year..

My $0.02 on the issue..

I like the 04-05 front end a lot more than I do my front end, first of all...

and getting an 04-05 civic would cost me about 10-13 thousand dollars, compared to about 500-800 dollars the front end would cost me.

its not worth it.

I love the 04-05 front end, but thats a bit of money to justify the change. Its up to you though. if you can find the parts and do all the work yourself, Id say go for it.

djspot 01-17-2006 05:07 PM

^^^Thats exactly why I would do it....at my dads shop they got a lot of hook ups for being regulars with various wreckers...

and about the justification about the money....we spend like 2g's on rims, 3 bills on intakes, thousands on stereo equipment...

500-700 for a complete front end (fenders, hood, headlights, front bumper) is pretty good...

the statement of it being justified or not can be used for anything you buy for your car...frankley, nothing anybody buys for their car other than OEM parts for repair is justified
