My 7thgen is going up 4 sale 2morrow :-( Well, ive been thinking, so tomorrow once i take off my headers to take off the CEL, im gonna put up my car for sale, with everything on it, rims, sound system, everything, only have 54k miles, the reason im selling it is cuz i want a faster car, and a car that stick shift, and not auto, the cars im thinking on, is a (2000 Si Bseries) or a (2002 Si Hatch, kseries) or maybe an (2002 Rsx) if anything i think im gonna get the Si Hatch for sure, i fell inlove with the interior, and i know it has the k20a1, but all the a1 needs is turbo, so if i do get it, im not gonna buy anything xcept for rims, and thats it, no headers, no intake, no nothign, and just save up for turbo, So yea, what do u guys think? |
there is no k20a1. it's a k20a3. I think you'd be much happier with the 2000 Si since it has real vtec. |
oh my bad, well a3 i guess, what do u mean , "real vtec"? |
he means.....vtec is actually finctional on the b series. lol |
both, 00 Si or 7thgen Si, I like them a lot. |
00 si i have to say...those are nice...7thgen si's are too minivan for me but nice none the less... |
i know the 7thgen si stock is pretty minivanish, but when u fix them up, it could be the best looking minivanish car ever! so what do u guys think? am i making a mistake, or should i stay with it? |

this is gonna be my everyday car, which is why my interior matters to me alot, the 7thgen si, is nice from the interior, the 00si interior's is more like a 95 honda or something, its all plane, regardless of anything, i dont want the fastest car in the world, yet their both faster than the car i had, another reason why i am mostly choosing the 7thgen si, is because i have a 2001 civic right? the interior is aight too, so i dont really wanna feel like im selling my car to downgrade, yes, even though the 00 si would be faster, but yea hopefully u guys know what i mean, the 7thgen si, im just planning on boosting it, and thats it!, looks come after, i made that mistake with my 7thgen, i went looks first, but its too late now, w/e so yea, |
the 7thgen SI may look like a minivan STOCK, but look at some with nice kits, a nice drop and some rims... and a Supercharger on it. those hatches look very tight when modded. |
get a 7th gen si slam it & boost it. |
If you get the Si coupe get a good alarm those love to disappear |
My first crush was a 99-00 civic si lol |
and the 2000 si is really hard to find out here..and forget about finding one stock |

The Base motor is rated at 160hp at 6500rpm and 141lb-ft at 4000 rpm. This motor does not use the conventional VTEC mechanism from the earlier B series motors but does have VTC. Instead it only has 2 cam lobes on the intake side and 1 on the exhaust lob. This motor has no VTEC mechanism on the exhaust cam and runs on 12 valves before 2200rpm with the other 4 slightly opening. It also has smaller ports than the Type S and Type R. The motor comes with a 5 speed transmission instead of the 6 speed and has no LSD. " basically its about the same vtec thats in a civic ex almost. your welcome :sweet: :sweet: |
dude get either the 2000 SI or the 02 type S. good luck |
ungay your civic and keep it :giggle: seriously, getting a used 2000 Si is trouble (around here anyways) they are all modified (poorly) and driven VERY hard. The minivan needs money poured into it, and blowing either one will kill the reliability. |
just get and RSX |
2000 Civic Si = the shat. The K series is a great engine, but the 160HP models, if you're not boosting are just underpowered engines in overweight cars. High strung B series engines are the cat's meow, even though they're a bit long in the tooth, they're still bulletproof, fun to drive and have, as mentioned previously, 'real' VTEC. Not to mention, nobody said you can't turbo a B16 :) |
Dc5! |

rsx! |
the 2002 rsx is a k20a2 the SI is a k20a3 I know because I traded my boosted civic after I stripped it back to stock for a 2002 rsx-s and have not even looked back |
get the 00 Si or the Type S.... Do NOT get the EP3 those things r the ugliest cars ever made and they are just straight up gay |
get a manual 7th gen u got parts for it already, boost it, from where i live i got the 7th gen for 9,000 and it an 01 ex manual if i could i would have gotton a 00 si but there werent any for sale at thetime and if there was it probably had to many miles once a cars hits 100,000 i usually get rid of it but thats just me but if ur car is paid for and u dont make payments on it then the money u get for it is all going in ur pocket then yea i would look into getting somethin newer i like the 7th gen even tho the engine isnt the biggest of the hondas and its not the fastest of all stock hondas but it fun and i like it and thats all that matters i have alot of plans for mine tho if u got the money and the time then u can make any car go fast but do what u want if it were me i would get a 7th gen ex |

The 7thgen Si is similar. They are very close to a 5sp EX with a good driver, except they have the POTENTIAL to be much faster than our cars. As far as I'm concerned, potential=$$$. When you boost you break. |
listen to what everyone is saying and don't get the minivan gayness. but from your posts your leaning towards it already so there is no point in telling you this. happy soccer momming. |
well, im guessing ur saying that to get the 00si since im pretty sure where u live their rare right? well here in Southgate, i see them all the time, like ALL the time, in blue, red, and black i think, and that'll be a car hard to find with low miles, ok this is a better question, WHy get the 00 si? all im hearing is that to dont get the other SI cuz it looks ugly, but u mean to tell me that these right here are ugly? and yea u can say it costs money to fix them up, but so did it cost to my 7thgen sedan, http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7456/10cx.jpg so ur telling me this in lookwise right? so why get the 00si, cuz its better looking? just really want to know the rOOT of the answer thats all |
