My 7thgen is going up 4 sale 2morrow :-(

Well, ive been thinking, so tomorrow once i take off my headers to take off the CEL, im gonna put up my car for sale, with everything on it, rims, sound system, everything, only have 54k miles, the reason im selling it is cuz i want a faster car, and a car that stick shift, and not auto, the cars im thinking on, is a (2000 Si Bseries) or a (2002 Si Hatch, kseries) or maybe an (2002 Rsx) if anything i think im gonna get the Si Hatch for sure, i fell inlove with the interior, and i know it has the k20a1, but all the a1 needs is turbo, so if i do get it, im not gonna buy anything xcept for rims, and thats it, no headers, no intake, no nothign, and just save up for turbo,

So yea, what do u guys think?

aznboysrfr 01-15-2006 01:45 PM

there is no k20a1. it's a k20a3.

I think you'd be much happier with the 2000 Si since it has real vtec.

White0nGold 01-15-2006 01:46 PM

oh my bad, well a3 i guess, what do u mean , "real vtec"?

spoonEM 01-15-2006 02:00 PM

he means.....vtec is actually finctional on the b series. lol

boricua_civic 01-15-2006 02:06 PM

both, 00 Si or 7thgen Si, I like them a lot.

ragingSPAM 01-15-2006 02:59 PM

00 si i have to say...those are nice...7thgen si's are too minivan for me but nice none the less...

White0nGold 01-15-2006 03:16 PM

i know the 7thgen si stock is pretty minivanish, but when u fix them up, it could be the best looking minivanish car ever! so what do u guys think? am i making a mistake, or should i stay with it?

i love the ep3s but u havta lower it a ton and lip kit or something..i hate them stock.. so look at it this way..ur going to havta spend some money to make it look good.. and go fast.. now on the other hand..the 00 si can look good with just rims and suspension.. and with basic bolt ons its pretty fast...look at ur investment and decide which one u like more..cuz you dont wanna waste your money..

White0nGold 01-15-2006 04:34 PM

this is gonna be my everyday car, which is why my interior matters to me alot, the 7thgen si, is nice from the interior, the 00si interior's is more like a 95 honda or something, its all plane, regardless of anything, i dont want the fastest car in the world, yet their both faster than the car i had, another reason why i am mostly choosing the 7thgen si, is because i have a 2001 civic right? the interior is aight too, so i dont really wanna feel like im selling my car to downgrade, yes, even though the 00 si would be faster, but yea hopefully u guys know what i mean, the 7thgen si, im just planning on boosting it, and thats it!, looks come after, i made that mistake with my 7thgen, i went looks first, but its too late now, w/e so yea,

boricua_civic 01-15-2006 04:47 PM

the 7thgen SI may look like a minivan STOCK, but look at some with nice kits, a nice drop and some rims... and a Supercharger on it. those hatches look very tight when modded.

eddiechaps 01-15-2006 06:02 PM

get a 7th gen si slam it & boost it.

Day_Tripper 01-15-2006 06:52 PM

If you get the Si coupe get a good alarm those love to disappear

IrockCivics 01-15-2006 07:10 PM

My first crush was a 99-00 civic si lol

ddevil0013 01-15-2006 08:59 PM

and the 2000 si is really hard to find out here..and forget about finding one stock

Those are EXACTLY my plans, although sum1 did say supercharge it, i think of that too, but yea, as for the 00 si, i see those around here alot, like alot alot, i see more 00si's around here than i see the 7thgen si, but yea, good plans for me or no?

eddiechaps 01-15-2006 10:07 PM

do both sc & boost. you'll go really fast

http://www.theksource.com/news/04/k-...tec-breakdown/

"K20a3-Acura Rsx Base and Civic SI models come in with 9.8:1 compression and 2 liters of displacement. The Base motor is rated at 160hp at 6500rpm and 141lb-ft at 4000 rpm. This motor does not use the conventional VTEC mechanism from the earlier B series motors but does have VTC. Instead it only has 2 cam lobes on the intake side and 1 on the exhaust lob. This motor has no VTEC mechanism on the exhaust cam and runs on 12 valves before 2200rpm with the other 4 slightly opening. It also has smaller ports than the Type S and Type R. The motor comes with a 5 speed transmission instead of the 6 speed and has no LSD. "

basically its about the same vtec thats in a civic ex almost. your welcome :sweet: :sweet:

MajinB 01-15-2006 11:26 PM

dude get either the 2000 SI or the 02 type S. good luck

acjones21 01-15-2006 11:31 PM

ungay your civic and keep it :giggle:

seriously, getting a used 2000 Si is trouble (around here anyways) they are all modified (poorly) and driven VERY hard. The minivan needs money poured into it, and blowing either one will kill the reliability.

Cptn. Slow 01-15-2006 11:34 PM

just get and RSX

dre2600 01-16-2006 12:16 AM

2000 Civic Si = the shat. The K series is a great engine, but the 160HP models, if you're not boosting are just underpowered engines in overweight cars. High strung B series engines are the cat's meow, even though they're a bit long in the tooth, they're still bulletproof, fun to drive and have, as mentioned previously, 'real' VTEC. Not to mention, nobody said you can't turbo a B16 :)

dc5pilot 01-16-2006 02:05 AM

Dc5!

so whats gay about my civic? huh? anyways, rsx is fast, but its heavy, i think a 7thgen si boosted well probly a bit more quicker than a stock rsx, and like i said, its gonna be my everyday car, and i LOVE the 7thgen si interior compared to the 6thgen si, even though its a 2000 civic, the interior looks like it'll be from a like 95-96,and also, i really dont want the faster car in the world, i want something thats desent and fun to drive, so u mean to tell me a boosted 7thgen si isnt desent? im pretty sure it'll be way faster than a 7thgen civic ex, right? im just gonna get the 7thgen si, and not spend a dime on looks or anything, maybe just a system, and save up to boost it, and boost it, and it'll be a mean sleeper, all stock i mean ALL STOCK outside, and boostedk20 inside,
so do u guys still think i should get the 7thgen SI? or the 6thgen SI?

Mutha Fn FBM 85 01-16-2006 08:21 AM

rsx!

eye_see_you 01-16-2006 08:27 AM

the 2002 rsx is a k20a2 the SI is a k20a3 I know because I traded my boosted civic after I stripped it back to stock for a 2002 rsx-s and have not even looked back

Kyle23 01-16-2006 08:28 AM

get the 00 Si or the Type S.... Do NOT get the EP3 those things r the ugliest cars ever made and they are just straight up gay

grncivic2001 01-16-2006 09:42 AM

get a manual 7th gen u got parts for it already, boost it, from where i live i got the 7th gen for 9,000 and it an 01 ex manual if i could i would have gotton a 00 si but there werent any for sale at thetime and if there was it probably had to many miles once a cars hits 100,000 i usually get rid of it but thats just me but if ur car is paid for and u dont make payments on it then the money u get for it is all going in ur pocket then yea i would look into getting somethin newer i like the 7th gen even tho the engine isnt the biggest of the hondas and its not the fastest of all stock hondas but it fun and i like it and thats all that matters i have alot of plans for mine tho if u got the money and the time then u can make any car go fast but do what u want if it were me i would get a 7th gen ex

I'm just joking with you man. I just hate to see everyone (it seems like) trading good cars for questionable used ones just because they are faster on paper. The 6thgen Si is a pig with a tiny (but good) engine. The 7thgen Si is similar. They are very close to a 5sp EX with a good driver, except they have the POTENTIAL to be much faster than our cars. As far as I'm concerned, potential=$$$. When you boost you break.

MajinB 01-16-2006 10:21 AM

listen to what everyone is saying and don't get the minivan gayness. but from your posts your leaning towards it already so there is no point in telling you this. happy soccer momming.

White0nGold 01-16-2006 03:57 PM

well, im guessing ur saying that to get the 00si since im pretty sure where u live their rare right? well here in Southgate, i see them all the time, like ALL the time, in blue, red, and black i think, and that'll be a car hard to find with low miles, ok this is a better question, WHy get the 00 si? all im hearing is that to dont get the other SI cuz it looks ugly, but u mean to tell me that these right here are ugly? and yea u can say it costs money to fix them up, but so did it cost to my 7thgen sedan, http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7456/10cx.jpg so ur telling me this in lookwise right? so why get the 00si, cuz its better looking? just really want to know the rOOT of the answer thats all
