Paint to match stock INTERIOR color So I got a nice new alpine head unit installed at best buy today, and the lights on it are amber and perfectly match my other interior lights. However the covering (I don't know exactly what you call this, the part of your dash that goes around the head unit and has that little pocket in it) doesn't perfectly match my black interior. It is CLOSE to matching, but it is a slightly lighter color (more greyish) and has more of those little metallic flecks in it. Is there any way I can paint this to perfectly match my stock interior black dash color? If so could someone link me to a place to buy this paint or tell me the paint color I should buy? If not, does someone make those coverings to perfectly match that I could install? |
i havent found any yet... i installed my own deck and kept the factory pocket... id say just paint it to match your exterior or just deal with it.. |
Thats what I was afraid of, but I was trying to keep my car from being too ricer. Anyone else have any experience with this? |
i didn't even notice it but you could take off the trim piece, sand it down with very fine grit sandpaper, and repaint with flat black trim paint from any auto store. Not sure how well it would match. |
