New Civic on the block...Lowering Advice...(56k go away)

Hey guys,

i bought this car about 2 weeks ago, i was waiting till i had enough time to go outside and take some pics. it's a 2003 civic ex. I bought it from a mechanic, he had tinted the windows and installed an exhaust. first thing i did was install a CAI, then that pretty much took care of my performance needs so i hit it with the neons. there are a couple dents about the size of a nickle on the left side of the car, and some bug remains on the front bumper, other than that, the car is fine cosmetically in my opinion. but i'm here for your opinion, so tell me watcha think.

sorry for the bad picture quality. my digital camera's lense is pretty fudged up. color balance and lighting filters are no longer features of the camera.

oh yea, mpg is a huge plus. mom has a 96 suburban (16mpg) so you know how she feels about this car's mpg.

yea i keep thinking about what i wanna do. im a junior in high school so i'm a bit constricted with money, and i'm also a computer geek so money has to be spent equally between the car and comp.

i was thinking of a short shifter and shift knob. i'm set with the power, acceleration on this car is incredible. suspension was on my mind but i don't have a problem with that. i donno what do you guys think i should do.

thanks. i've wanted a civic since i was about 11, after i found the importance of mileage and the "customizationability" of the civic.

WILL DO! :hgrin:

bOoStEd042dr 11-23-2005 05:28 PM

the thing is there is potential...and if your gonna have it for a while you can drop alot of cash in it and make it the way you'd like....minus huge horsepower

tinman 11-23-2005 06:20 PM

Oh yeah... potential.... yes, it's in there somewhere.... with enough money.

Have fun!! :D

Black03civic 11-23-2005 06:24 PM

It's either my eyesight or the camera or even my monitor but I see that OEM-looking spoiler like... too tall! I think I need to rest before commenting any further...

Welcome, brotha!

Computer specs, btw?

ramcosca 11-23-2005 06:37 PM

Sideways looks real nice, btw.

blouisgod 11-23-2005 06:40 PM

welcome to the site and a ton of info!

Al Gore FTW 11-23-2005 07:01 PM

nice, neons = teh blah, however.

sweeteli99 11-23-2005 07:02 PM

time to get rid of the pepboys muffler, and neons then you'd be straight

lklelnlnlyl 11-23-2005 07:45 PM

nice....

heh, well i'm fine with the muffler, i'm not racing yet nor do i demand much so i'll just save the money for when i need it. i like the neons, it gives the people who know nothing about automotives a chance at appreciating my car, and i just like lights.

chrisleecool 11-23-2005 08:37 PM

awesome~ hope you have fun with it
how much did you pay for it? how many miles? (just curious)

43K miles on it, bought it for $7500, dad can haggle. and the mechanic is bringing his family over from Mexico and he needs to get a van kuhz this car can't fit his 938 family members in it.... legally. this is what really pissed me off, when we wanted to get the insurance, they said something like "well the value of the car is $10,000 so that's how much we'll base your insurance on."

i hope by "racing" you dont mean street racing and you intend to race in on the track, preferably autocross and track days.

ahahaha i was sure it was gunna come up. no, i'm not one of those teens out there today that race illegally. my friend is a big time car enthusiast, he has an integra and civic that he has built just for racing. then he has another civic for driving around town. he told me that i should keep workin on the car and make it worthy of racing at VIR in the spring. no i don't race illegally, nor do i plan to.

sweet ride, nice color. get a drop first I would say

Yoshiemaster 11-23-2005 10:32 PM

actually, SinaloaCivic pointed out that i should get a air bypass valve so the car doesn't hydro-lock. that's the most important thing i gotta get. after that, i'll see what i can do.
