My car is dead

:( DH racing screwed me over. their port and polish cylinder head messed up my car now I have a head gasket leak and coolant going all over the engine bay and on the plugs. I'm done. If anyone has a vtec head with everything on it, I'm in desperate need of one. somehow i'm gonna have to become an expert in auto repair real soon cause I'm gonna have to fix it myself. Yea i'm screwed.

CivicsRdBest 11-20-2005 03:26 PM

booba5185 11-20-2005 03:45 PM

xkimsungminx 11-20-2005 04:52 PM

wow that sucks, haha and i remember your post saying they were good for head port and polishes, including your post on the throttle body port and polish =|

AlienX 11-20-2005 04:56 PM

sry to hear, hope someone can help you out..

gearbox 11-20-2005 04:58 PM

i never said DH does good work. Never.

susuking 11-20-2005 05:17 PM

sorry to hear that, good luck and nv go to dh

Slow Gold 11-20-2005 05:30 PM

is the only problem the leaking headgasket?

gearbox 11-20-2005 05:41 PM

yea and the head. compression is 200psi and that is way too hi for turbo (going on next year sometime). heck thats even hi for NA.

Sick Cycle 11-20-2005 05:45 PM

why not just replace the head gasket?

Slow Gold 11-20-2005 05:46 PM

damn that does suck. I was gonna suggest milling the head and using a larger head gasket to make up for the milling.

Slow Gold 11-20-2005 05:48 PM

Maybe you could try having head milled by honda... You can get super think head gaskets that'll lower compression down to like 9:1

gearbox 11-20-2005 05:58 PM

the head is already milled way past the limit. i knew this would come back to bite me someday. its milled 1mm and honda says never mill more than 2/10 mm. that would explain the 200psi instead of stock 135. Like i said, this head has to go. i didn't really know until now.

HondaLuver 11-20-2005 06:13 PM

just backs up the other posts of how much they suck...

01vic 11-20-2005 06:52 PM

would it be cheaper to just get a whole new D17 and put it in? i hear theyre only aroundd $600

ncirom2003 11-20-2005 07:01 PM

wow a whole millimeter off huh, ouch.
well good luck on repairs and if your going turbo dont mill it and go for thicker headgaskets.
the head replacement wont be that difficult, its just really time consuming. take your time and make a weekend out of it. ill try to remember when i go into school to print out the process for you (mitchell on-demand, its like a huge service manual for every car out there online).
you should get arp head studs while your at it.

tuner04civic 11-20-2005 07:16 PM

sorry to hear man good luck with it, make them pay for what they messed up

Mutha Fn FBM 85 11-20-2005 07:18 PM

This is a sign... D17s suck! Get a k20! I'm jk.

Hurts2bStock 11-20-2005 07:25 PM

That really sucks, it would look as though all Ive ever hear of DH is just storys of how someones car is just fu(ked..... and its because of their work or product supplied by them....... :_disgust: :_disgust:

gEArboX : :_beer:

blouisgod 11-20-2005 07:45 PM

damn bro that sucks. ill keep an eye out for a cheap a2 head.

gearbox 11-20-2005 07:46 PM

i have a service manual but there are alot of things to do. I'm worried about swapping the camshaft and setting the timing on top of removing all that stuff. I guess i'll post here if i get stuck. first i need a new head and supplies. Its gonna be done in the parking lot here outside during winter most likely. I can take the bus some places so I can prolly be without a car for a week or so.

booba5185 11-20-2005 07:53 PM

dude that sux so much, i seriously wish i was in one of the surrounding states, i'd drive in to help you, you've done so much for this site to help everyone, it's the least i could do (hint hint to anyone around gearbox)

CuRiOuSfIsH 11-20-2005 08:03 PM

Damn man, I'm sorry about your whole situation.... and I thought we heard the last of DH Racing.....

ncirom2003 11-20-2005 09:09 PM

dh racing is still up and running ^

the whole parking lot in the winter thing sounds kinda iffy but if thats all youve got to work with just take percaustions that nothing gets rusty or wet inside there.

sweeteli99 11-20-2005 09:09 PM

time for k20 :)
