My car is dead :( DH racing screwed me over. their port and polish cylinder head messed up my car now I have a head gasket leak and coolant going all over the engine bay and on the plugs. I'm done. If anyone has a vtec head with everything on it, I'm in desperate need of one. somehow i'm gonna have to become an expert in auto repair real soon cause I'm gonna have to fix it myself. Yea i'm screwed. |
Damn that sux. |
ouch man that really sucks hardcore |
make them pay.... |
Holy shit. Damn man, I'm sorry. Good luck to you, I hope everything gets fixed. I hate DH racing. |
Damn, Poeple in IL need to ban together to help GearBox, He's done more for this site than anyone i can think of, everyone should get together to help him asap! |
good luck tryin to fix it bro. im really sorry that this had to happen. |
wow that sucks, haha and i remember your post saying they were good for head port and polishes, including your post on the throttle body port and polish =| |
he got his TB done at maxbore... sry to hear, hope someone can help you out.. |
i never said DH does good work. Never. |
sorry to hear that, good luck and nv go to dh |
is the only problem the leaking headgasket? |
yea and the head. compression is 200psi and that is way too hi for turbo (going on next year sometime). heck thats even hi for NA. |
why not just replace the head gasket? |
damn that does suck. I was gonna suggest milling the head and using a larger head gasket to make up for the milling. |
Maybe you could try having head milled by honda... You can get super think head gaskets that'll lower compression down to like 9:1 |
the head is already milled way past the limit. i knew this would come back to bite me someday. its milled 1mm and honda says never mill more than 2/10 mm. that would explain the 200psi instead of stock 135. Like i said, this head has to go. i didn't really know until now. |
just backs up the other posts of how much they suck... |
would it be cheaper to just get a whole new D17 and put it in? i hear theyre only aroundd $600 |
wow a whole millimeter off huh, ouch. well good luck on repairs and if your going turbo dont mill it and go for thicker headgaskets. the head replacement wont be that difficult, its just really time consuming. take your time and make a weekend out of it. ill try to remember when i go into school to print out the process for you (mitchell on-demand, its like a huge service manual for every car out there online). you should get arp head studs while your at it. |
sorry to hear man good luck with it, make them pay for what they messed up |
This is a sign... D17s suck! Get a k20! I'm jk. |
That really sucks, it would look as though all Ive ever hear of DH is just storys of how someones car is just fu(ked..... and its because of their work or product supplied by them....... :_disgust: :_disgust: gEArboX : :_beer: |
damn bro that sucks. ill keep an eye out for a cheap a2 head. |
i have a service manual but there are alot of things to do. I'm worried about swapping the camshaft and setting the timing on top of removing all that stuff. I guess i'll post here if i get stuck. first i need a new head and supplies. Its gonna be done in the parking lot here outside during winter most likely. I can take the bus some places so I can prolly be without a car for a week or so. |
dude that sux so much, i seriously wish i was in one of the surrounding states, i'd drive in to help you, you've done so much for this site to help everyone, it's the least i could do (hint hint to anyone around gearbox) |
Damn man, I'm sorry about your whole situation.... and I thought we heard the last of DH Racing..... |
dh racing is still up and running ^ the whole parking lot in the winter thing sounds kinda iffy but if thats all youve got to work with just take percaustions that nothing gets rusty or wet inside there. |
time for k20 :) |
