Mods: ACT Clutch/ Alpine deck/ Autometer boost gauge/ BFG KDW Tyres/ Blitz FATT/ Greddy Shift Knob/ Hallman MBC/ Hawk Rear pads/ JDM MR BOV/ NGK spark plugs/
Perrin antenna/ Project Mu pads/ Rockford Fosgate amp & sub/ RS*R cat-back/ Seibon CF hood/ Tein H-Tech/ TurboXS intake/ Quaife Limited Slip Diff.
Got rid of it cause it kept breaking and having too many problems.

GACivic 11-19-2005 05:09 PM

That 350z is nice as hell. Guy where I live has one with black 20s or 19s on it. Looks REALLY nice.

Robert_K 11-19-2005 05:13 PM

Well I'm looking at some 18" Gram Lights.

jmiester96 11-19-2005 05:16 PM

yea, dont go bigger then 18's. if you do your ride will definetly suck. looks sweet.

Robert_K 11-19-2005 05:36 PM

Thanks!

R3DL1N3 11-19-2005 05:39 PM

nice

Day_Tripper 11-19-2005 05:59 PM

Thats crazy one of my friends made the same switch

MIVtec 11-19-2005 06:02 PM

i would take a Z over a Evo for sure, nice car man!

PoorCollegeBoy 11-19-2005 06:04 PM

are you on HAI as well? If not, there is someone on there who just traded their Evo for a Nissan 350z as well.

Looks nice!

mrDFWmechanic 11-19-2005 06:09 PM

what are your plans for the Z ?

my buddy's dad has a black 350z roadster and just got a set of bronze 18" gram lights and they look sick on there.

Awesome trade. I'd like to know what your future plans are too. You should totally get 20's.

Robert_K 11-20-2005 12:03 AM

I am on HAI.
Not too many plans.
And I'm not a fan of 20s.

ramcosca 11-20-2005 12:45 AM

Congratz man. Love the Z!!! (I don't like EVO's that much since the introduction of the VIII... )

soonercivic 11-20-2005 02:21 AM

Nice car. Now go buy yourself a DA polisher, because black is a b**** to keep looking good. You already have some swirls and holograms on that c-pillar. Great choice though!

IceVic05 11-20-2005 02:25 AM

teh hawtness
now all you need is MADD NAWZZZ lol
hott as hell bro i love it

MYK1013 11-20-2005 02:36 AM

nice switch, woulda done the same.

My friend here just traded in his '04 touring Z for a 2006 Tacoma SR5 because of practicality issues. Sad huh.

05_ CivicJDM 11-20-2005 02:43 AM

Sick ride! Def go bronze Volks... Nice trade since Evo's and WRX's are all over the place here in Colorado.

AzNmiKex215 11-20-2005 08:38 AM

sweet ride,

What specific problems did the Evo give you? I may want to pick one up soon. Is there a forum where i can read about common problems?

black05civic 11-20-2005 09:28 AM

Get the Rays from the 06 Z's (Grand Touring Package). I love the way they look. 19's in the back, 18's up front.

blouisgod 11-20-2005 10:23 AM

sweet ride. i'm planning to get a z-body when they are redesigned in '07.

Robert_K 11-20-2005 10:43 AM

Stock Advans were replaced at 10k miles, I replace the hvac at 13k miles, the clutch at 20k miles, the front diff at 30k, the power sterring pump and starter at 33k miles. Think the transmisson was going out as well as the rear diff.
Check out www.EvolutionM.net for the most information. But be cautious because of... well refer to my quote in sig.

AzNmiKex215 11-20-2005 11:16 AM

would you say yours was one of the few with that many problems? I mean power steering pump and starter at 33k miles? Tranny and differential soon after?!?! THAT IS NUTS!!

I know 7thgens have their share of problems, but i havent had any in my 2001 ex !!

Are you refering to my problems on a civic? All those problems are from an Evolution 8.

Day_Tripper 11-20-2005 11:34 AM

All my friends with evo's have a lot of problems too... mainly with the tranny

$killer05coupe 11-20-2005 01:02 PM

now that will definitely help me cancel my decision in trading in my civic for an evo. I guess all of those horror stories about the maintenance of the evo are true.

Robert_K 11-20-2005 01:14 PM

Not all Evo's have the same problems.

AzNmiKex215 11-20-2005 01:23 PM

i guess its just a risk you gotta take. If i get an Evo and it has alot of problems, i just gotta end up selling it.

What im scared about is that i will put a lot of money into modifying it and than oem parts like starters and transmissions will fail or even the hvac.

Robert_K 11-20-2005 01:28 PM

Trust me I dumped some top dough into it. The front diff was $1500 ($1900 installed) alone, the clutch was $500 (total $1100 instaled) and, the hood was $500.

IrockCivics 11-20-2005 01:38 PM

I like it I wanted one but too bad they are only 2 seaters
