you are going to LOVE the C5. Believe me. Its an amazing car, and you will probably never get tired of it.

well dam thats a hell of a upgrade....good luck with it!!!

now you can start the REAL upgrades. Get some HREs, heads, cam, longtube headers and drop the car (MUCH simpler on a C5, they all can be lowered with factory hardware, just twist a bolt and it lowers itself, none of this strut garbage) that should put you at about 400WHP.

my friend sold his 1993 mr2 turbo for 14k with a new TRD built engine...than he got a C5 Z06 in yellow

damn that is sweet. why not the c6. any particular reason, i mean i am sure the price difference but i think the 6 looks sick

I like how you say "its got to go" like its a financial thing, and then BAM! with the C5. lol. Ah well, its an awesome car, and that pushrod engine is easy to get power out of. In another year or 2 you can save to do an LS7 swap and twin turbo that! You would be getting probably about 600 at the wheels or so. Im jealous.

i would personally go for a c6 6pd or even a Z06 but that is just getting really pricy

so thats where the money for the tranny I bought from you went.
haha that sucks man, that car was cool really liked riding in it, I'll have to tell my friends about this.

Tranny update- we put it in the car on sunday, and got it fully installed, however had no tranny fluid so hopefully friday or sat at the latest I'll know how good it is running. I'll update you later.

My girlfriends stepdad has a 1998 C5 that handles really well. I love driving that thing, he's putting about 470hp on the ground. But no suspension mods. Awesome car to drive, nothing like pure american muscle.

Sure, a Pontiac Bonneville will handle like shit, but the Corvette is still a contender among contenders.

If not for the sheer fact that I'd kill myself if I had one right now, I'd love to have a C5. I actually like the body better than the C6.

the only thing i don't like about the c5 corvette is the headlights. everything else is to die for. great upgrade.

go race one on a road course......tell us who wins

research the lateral g's some mustangs or other american cars can handle then compare them to w/e you want. american cars used to be infamous, (just because they were big and going quick around corners wasnt the biggest of things other than nascar) for handling bad but most definately not corvettes.
i gaurantee youll be amazed when you realize that there is really no difference anymore.


EDIT: oh yeah back on topic, i was actually considering just what you did a couple months ago but im in school so i decided ill just wait and get something better. great choice, corvettes are one of my alltime favorites.

downgrade in my opinion....i hate american cars, it doesn't matter which one it is, they all feel cheaply made.......i would rather drive a slow civic than a fast american car......anyday.........and i really dislike rear wheel drive cars especially
