New 05 EX Coupe

Hey everybody! Just joined the forum with my new 05 ex se coupe! I had a 99 before this one and bought it solely for gas milage, as I have a fullsize GMC that used to be my daily driver.

What Im looking to find out are some mods I can do to gain a little more "passing" power. I find that between 40-60 there isnt a whole lot of power no matter what gear Im in (Im used to my pickup which has a radix supercharger on it). Money isnt a big deal to me on parts, but I dont want to completely overhaul the motor or do forced induction. Car only has 1500 miles on it so far, just under a month old. Any help would be appreicated. Thanks guys, I look forward to commenting on the forum!

well from what i read the only way you could get more power on our D17's is by F/I. but since a F/I is not one of your option get probabaly a Injen Cold Air Intake, DC Sports Header and a Greddy Sp2 Catback exhaust will give a small power jump. then maybe a crower stage 1 cam will give you a bit more power after doing the other mods. you could also get your t/b bored out a bit but thats if you get a cam. Ask gearbox.. he has done this already... I belive a Apex'i VAFC will help you tune your car also when u have your cam ..

05 EX + $5000.00 = STILL no power.

Do a K series swap if you are serious. Otherwise you bought the WRONG car.
Gas mileage and power usually don't mix well.

Im not looking to race the thing or make it a tuner car, just a little more power. I know milage will suffer some, but when my pickup gets 11 on a good day, and this car even with a few mods will still get well over 25, im not too worried about that.

As far as forced induction goes, if that was a route I would take, who makes a decent kit for the 1.7?

Trade your Civic for a CBR.

I have a manual trans., and I typically have the trans. in sixth gear at that speed. Downshift into fourth and then roll on the throttle is an expensive solution, IMO.
