Yay, finally got it done! 15% all the way around, Madico film, lifetime warranty. Going back in 3 weeks to get 'touch ups', ie: press the film down securely after it cures.

that looks GOOD! Did they touch the windshield?

Would a lighter tint be 10%, and would darker be 20%?

thnks.

Slawek 11-04-2005 09:58 AM

Thanks man! No they didn't touch the windshield. The % is a measurement of how much light goes through the tint. So, 35% would be lighter, 15% would be darker, 5% would be as dark as a limo.

No, its the other way around. !0% would be darker and 20% would be lighter.

Thanks slawek and blahman, 10% is darker, 20% lighter. That always confused me.

Slawek 11-04-2005 10:18 AM

Yup, the lower the %, the less light getting thru! :) In Ontario, we dont have any % values for legal limits, it's up to the officers discretion. It's not bad during the day, like you can see that there is a person there wearing a seatbelt.. But at night, good luck :P 35% seems to be the standard for "legal" around here.. most places wont do below that on the front windows, but if you tell them you're aware of the risks, they'll do it.

es2k2 11-04-2005 10:21 AM

i like that! no legal limit for tinting!

CenZ 11-04-2005 10:26 AM

Sweeet! Your car looks really good with tints! Nice job! I love the rims and rear bumpers on those cars. Once again, it looks great!

Slawek 11-04-2005 10:28 AM

Ya Bump to CenZ for helping me make a decision! Thanks a lot man, appreciate it.

Slawek 11-04-2005 10:29 AM

Thanks for the positive respone! I'd really like some bigger rims and a BuddyClub2 kit, but I'm so broke right now..

Mutha Fn FBM 85 11-04-2005 10:31 AM

I used to hate red Civics but yours is making me like them.. lol. Nice.

mugenman 11-04-2005 10:43 AM

yeah mine dont look like that either, it looks like vinyl, i like, i wanna put that on the top where the dots are cause they didnt tint that for me...

xxsleepyxx 11-04-2005 07:37 PM

nice tint Slawek.. you have any trouble seeing through the back window at night? how much you pay for ?

Slawek 11-04-2005 11:18 PM

It's a little bit of a learning curve seeing out the back. It's not bad though. I can see myself getting used to it quickly. Right now it's more of a challenge, but really not bad.

I paid $220 CDN, taxes included. There are cheaper places out there, but they dont use Madico film.

Wadup

They did a good job. it looks great, i think you can ge the front done for about 20 extra, atleast where i got mine they did it for 20 extra.

Zeppelin8778 11-05-2005 02:41 AM

i think the % on the tint is what percent of the light from the inside escapes through the outside. like if its 35% than 35% of the visible light can escape through the tinting, if its 5% than 5% of the light can escape and so on...

Mutha Fn FBM 85 11-05-2005 11:23 AM

% = the percentage of light that can come in.

Nick 11-05-2005 12:07 PM

nice tint. I dont know what the hell i would do if it was snowing where i lived. I feel sorry 4 u.

Karumba 11-05-2005 08:38 PM

The snow photograph looks from last winter to me, not yet this year.

Tint looks like a nice way to start ;)
Though as normal, the Ontario front windows law is vague.. some cops might harass you on it. As for getting used to the driving, been through nighttime in the rain yet? Fun times at first ;)

diskreet 11-05-2005 08:56 PM

congrats
