Um... good job?

CuRiOuSfIsH 10-17-2005 09:29 PM

you guess? ANY engine can blow up..... there are those that blow up their motors for the sake for learning and experimenting.... and then there are those that just destroy things purposely for no reason.... whats yours?

MIVtec 10-17-2005 09:40 PM

what part is damaged?? for some reason it sounded like clutch to me but i have no idea..... if its blown its time for a K20 swap wooo hooo!!!

"Hello Mr. Valve, my name is Mr. Piston, and I will be occupying this space now."

Get the computer scanned and find out just how high it went. There should be an over rev code that registered. From the sounds of it, you got more than one cylinder out, a compression test will tell you which ones. Have fun with the rebuild.

Way too funny, Mr. Piston has bad timing.

Yesterday I drove my car on Laguna Seca Raceway!!! Yes, ON THE TRACK!

Today, I took it in to the dealership. They have to keep it over-night!

It's in overnight due to the SRS light. Apparently there's a malfunction in the seatbelt buckle that wouldn't signal to the SRS unit. It would latch, but not send a signal or whatever to the SRS.

Don't pay that much for a D17.

i've seen barely used motors on ebay for $200 US

Eclectic 01-09-2006 04:02 PM

i'm just curious, what motors (that have more power than the D17) can fit into the 7th gen civic other than the K20?

has anyone swapped with other kinds of engines?

R1Style 01-09-2006 04:09 PM

boooooooo they took the vid down!

I'll concur on that :moon:

Other motors besides the k20 would be the k24 to swap in.

Though everyone should remember it is 3,400 CAD - about 2,875 US. Still WAY too much for just an engine - especially a D17a2 at that.

smk 01-09-2006 04:34 PM

If you have to pay for the repair cost yourself, might as well drop a K-Series in there. D17 is slowwwww!!

Eclectic 01-12-2006 11:09 PM

quick question, what's the base price of the acura rsx sold at a commercial retailer place?

i'm just wondering if having a civic and spending around $5,000-$10,000 for an swap will still be cheaper than buying the RSX itself but still have the power of an RSX except in a civic....

thanks

redex04 01-12-2006 11:44 PM

why did they take the vid down?
