post pics of how you setup your car at SHOWS!

hey im going to a first show on sunday and im really shooting for either best exterior/best audio/best jap 2dr.
my trunk is shaved so people have to see it but needs to be open to see the trunk setup, how should i prop it up? ive seen like tire shine bottles holding it up but what have you guys dont? lets just see any and all pics of your car at shows

what ever theme you are going for, if your car is black, red, blue whatever.
to show off the trunk go get 2 paint sticks that u use to stir paint.
paint them the same color as the car.

use those to prop up the car, it will open it enough to see the whole system
and enough to see the shaved trunk.

eh, sounds like it will work but my trunk is dam heavy from the extra metal and whatnot, id be afraid the sticks would snap and theyd look cheesy. im thinking of maybe getting a box of uncle bens rice, (lol yes im joking but more i think of it, more i think it would be funny)

anybody? come on ive got the show tomorow in the AM so i need to figure this out by today

blouisgod 10-15-2005 10:24 AM

flip flop trunk would be perfect. let me see if i can find the diy.

repppppp..lol

this is an easy diy, just grab a buddy and head to home depot.

mndthegap1 10-15-2005 10:50 AM

i had a shaved trunk i did the same thing at many shows worked fine.
but yeah another good idea would be a flip flp trunk.

do you have any good pics of the car and maybe some dry ice? dry ice under the car is always a good one and commin out of the engine bay as long as ur carefull where u place it.....

well the problem with the flip flop trunk is that my subwoofers hit like a missile when i want them too, and i know the hinges will just allow the trunk to flap at that spot and sound like crap. im looking for something a lil more showy than paint sticks.

drew22mader 10-15-2005 12:35 PM

You want something to show off both, but you want your stereo playing also, but you don't want the flip flop trunk and you think the paint sticks will be too cheezy, your making this way to difficult man, Just get a rod of something, put some rubber or something on the end so it doesn't scratch, paint them the color of the car.

ncirom2003 10-15-2005 01:14 PM

not that difficult, no flip flop trunk, so i need something to prop it up and something i could pick up today, (so nothing to rig up like shocks) so all im asking is what would you guys think would look decent for a show to hold the trunk open? ive seen like tire shine bottles that are colorful but im wondering if theres anything else. theres tons and tons of things and ive only ruled out paint sticks.

drew22mader 10-15-2005 01:41 PM

i said get steel rods and paint them. They would match and serve the purpose, you can make them any length you want to, you can go thick with them or thin.

ncirom2003 10-15-2005 02:21 PM

sounds good, ill look into that, otherwise im thinking maybe a plexiglass rod

ajhdragon 10-15-2005 02:26 PM

use a stock spring thats what iuse to prop my hood at shows.

ajhdragon 10-15-2005 02:28 PM

i sa a person do plexi glass rods and put an LED in the botytom of it to light it up. just run it off a battery pack of 4 C batteries and it will last all day. and the 4 C batteries added up = 6volts which is maxeing out a standard LED but after a few minutes the voltage will drop.

ncirom2003 10-15-2005 04:34 PM

well i got it, cheap quick and easy. im just gonna use two spare speaker grills that i never used, that way people can know i got boston acoustics mids.
as for future, im def gonna look into the plexi rods.

Mine... I just open it all up, put the trophies on display, put my photo log book usually in the trunk and turn everything on, sometimes have a video going on the visors and music playing thru the stereo. Even my simple little car will get a lot of attention because I try and make it look appealing and have it playing showing my work off...

centurioncivic 10-15-2005 07:44 PM

02civic_rida 10-15-2005 08:01 PM
