Car broken into this morning, and they tried to steal it!*Updated*
 

So I got out to my car this morning and opened up my driver side door to get in, when I noticed that my glove box was open and both seats were moved forward. I looked around the interior and didn't notice anything missing. The truck latch lock was damaged and there were deep scratches around my anti-theft device. They tried to get my back seats down, but I guess the screwdriver they had was too big, because the lock to my seats is fine. The trunk lock on the outside of the car is completely pushed in, and the trunk is dented around the lock. They damaged my passenger side door lock, but I guess they weren't able to open the door, so they pried the window out and damaged the pillar above the door pretty good. They then went to the engine bay and took my oil cap, and tried to pull off other parts but were unable to.

All I can say is that I am happy the car is still there, and the engineering on those locks is great because they were unable to open a single one. They gave up on my trunk, which is where everying was. My subs, amp, capacitor, face plates to my stereo system, tool box, everything.

The police came and dusted the car, and pulled a print off of the gas cap, its probably mine though. The car is non-drivable because I don't know if they put anything in the engine or gas tank. My insurance company is towing the car later this morning to their repair shop, so I will know more then.

Good thing you noticed the oil cap. that wouldnt be to good driving with that off.

Yea, most theives just smash the window in, which incidently would probably cost less than all the damage they did to the door. :tdown:

I don't have an alarm, but I do have a Ravelco anti-theft device which prevented them from taking the car. Its the plug with all the scratches around it in one of the pictures. After looking through my car again, I think they also took my radar detector but thats it. They left my Oakley sunglasses, my XM tuner which was easy to see when you moved the passenger seat, and didn't even make an attempt at my stereo system. Problem is they opened the gas cap and there is some liquid inside the fueling area, its definetly not gas. And I'm still waiting for the damn tow truck!!!

sorry to hear about that bro. i hate it when people show no respect for other people's property. but look on the bright side. they didnt get away with all your stuff. you still have you intake, strut bar and headers... which is a good $400-450 if you bought that stuff new...

I feel ya, I was just broken into last week and my deck and digital camera were stolen. I still feel weird about driving it, like it isnt my car any more. Good luck with the repairs though!

that sucks I bet they put stuff in your oil and gas when they couldn't steal it. And thats alot of work to empty the fuel tank and engine oil. Hope everything works out.

god i hated draining gas...my old AE86 had to have its gas tank drained cuz the fuel was 2-3 years old so it was a pain cuz i didnt have a lift and couldnt get the car that high so i was forced to use little cans and fill up buckets of fuel before i disposed of it...but its not that bad cuz there is a drain bolt on the tank...it should be similar for the civics too...oil tho is nothing at all but after u change the oil and get new gas run an engine flush on the new oil and get rid of it just to clean the engine out

check ebay for ur items u lost and if u find them go to their house and fug them up. if there was no law id beat the shit oout of all the robbers fuggin hate them, ruining the community they probally think its funny wont be laughing if i catch one of them fuggin with my car

tell us what type of fluid they put in your oil tank. Man I hope they die, if they were trying to f up your engine too, oh man Im gonna be totally pissed. Good job on not getting anything important stolen, and def get an alarm, I gotta do it to so no punk arse will try to touch my car.

I got the estimate from Progressive today. About $3500 in damage, and I won't have my car for 2 weeks. I have to go and look at my car again because they are saying that there is previous damage, which is bullshit. I have only had this car for 5 months, and baby the shit out of it. Heres the pics they took of the "previous damage." The dotted lines are supposed to be where the damage is

they obviously didnt now what they were doing. pretty lucky that ur only missing a oil cap instead of having a blank space where ur car used to be.

What anti-theft device do you have? Is it that white thing in the first pic? Man civic theft is on the rise people arm yourselfs.

THat sucks, happened to me last week. I need to get hood pin locks, becuase they pulled my battery so fast, the alarm didnt go off at all really. A backup battery for my alarm system would have been good too.

They also pulled the shit outt of my hood lever, the cord is now broken and i cannot open my hood. LOL

After that, i now keep my trunk lever in the locked position.

yeah... i got jacked 2 days ago too and i had an alarm, i guess my alarm didnt run them off. they even broke my window.
